Hate it or Love it but if Canelo wins Mayweather's legacy only grows

For the people that will come up with excuses about Canelo being green or the catchweight nobody for the most part cares whether true or not.

Just like nobody cares that Pacquiao beat a Cotto post Margarito beatdown, after arguably losing to Clottey with a slight beating along the way, the catchweight, and having that clown of a trainer instead of his uncle.

Same way that nobody cares that Salvador Sanchez beat Wilfredo Gomez at a weight that he was never really the monster he was at. Also supposedly Wilfredo basically never really trained for that fight.

Nobody also cares Buster Douglas beat a non training, party animal, and drug using Tyson. All people remember is that Tyson got his ass beatdown by a supposed bum.

History will remember that Mayweather gave a boxing lesson to one of the greats of that era and for this reason as much as I dont like Canelo im rooting for him cause Mayweather is my favorite fighter lol

Dont act like some of you guys dont also have these type of situations when your favorite athlete or team will benefit from the athlete or team you dont like wins.

Any of you dudes in the same boat though?

      Its not BS.

Even Max Kellerman has said that Canelo would still get a boxing lesson.

That Cotto win is huge for Pacquiao yet nobody gives a **** that Cotto went thru two beatdowns from Clottey and a worse one from Margarito before the Pacquiao fight. Also the catchweight and had that clown of a trainer. Only wins he got was that controversial win vs Clottey and Yuri Foreman where his knee gave out after like 4 rounds.

Thats just like how it is.

Nobody cares that Stephen Curry beat a depleted Cavs in 2015.

Nobody cares Kobe beat a past prime Celtics Big 3 in 2010, nobody cares Magic beat an injured Isiah Thomas in 1988.

      It is what it is.

I agree. But as some others had said, Alvarez was a pup fighting a legend. How old was Nelo, 21-22?

For casuals in any era, they will make decisions by the eye test alone. NSB or forum drama will be non existent as time goes on. The Mayweather family are undoubtedly the best boxing family of the late 20th century carried over.

From my perspective I dont buy the whole green argument when HE ALREADY HAD THE TROUT WIN BEFORE THE MAYWEATHER FIGHT.

I can see how the catchweight can have effected him but Canelo himself is on the record telling David Failtelson after the Mayweather fight there is no such thing as shoulda, coulda, woulda when Failtelson asked him if he thought he was too green for this fight.

IMO the boxing lesson was so bad I dont believe Canelo could ever beat Mayweather.

there are asterisks everywhere on that fight, but its still a good win.

That said if Canelo beats GGG and the public demands Mayweather fight for Canelo, and mayweather doesnt fight him then it won't help Mayweather as much because people will understand the asterisks.

              Depends who you ask.

Floyd fans will say it's a great win and continues to get better.

Those who dislike Floyd will still say Canelo was green and also drained, despite his team fight suggesting 152 and the day before the fight still saying it suits him more, he will be quicker etc..

At the end of the day when it's all said and done, Floyd wasn't in his prime either, he was in his mid-late 30's, naturally the much smaller man and still schooled Canelo. He'll always have that W on his record over Canelo and that's what people will see in the future.

                I disagree.

People dont give a crap about those potential asterisks now and they wont give a crap about it even more so later.

Btw Salvador Sanchez is my favorite fighter of all time and yet nobody cares that his two best wins has potential asterisks all over them. I already mentioned the Gomez ones but the Nelson ones almost nobody knows Nelson got that fight 13 days before the fight and I believe it was the first time fighting in the US. Nobody cares though.

All people know today is that Chava ko'd two ATG's by 23.

What asterisks are you talking about?

I don't think the public will care to see a rematch these days as Mayweather is well past his prime......

It is BS ,Kellerman is cheerleader who have his opinions ,is he a gospel?

Fighting Nelo or GGG at 160 is diffrent story then fighting 21 yo Nelo in 152 CW
