Is Canelo cheating?

"If 'Canelo' chooses not to fight for the IBF title then Gennady won't unfairly be burdened by that second day weigh-in. - See more at: http://www.boxingscene.com/canelo-vs....CiOHNQ0n.dpuf
But he a small middleweight doe
So much for all of that "my dream is to have all of the middleweight belts" bull****Comment

Exactly. I see a lot of Floyd Mayweather in Canelo. He is using the same gutless tactics. Playing the victim and actually having the gall to act like he wasn't running from GGG is a perfect example. I just hope he doesn't pull an Oscar and run the last three rounds.Comment

As long as GGG doesn't have to weigh in either then who cares. Funny thing is, the IBF put that rule in to protect boxers from gaining massive amounts of weight for advantages but now guys would rather have a weight advantage then fight for a title.Comment

If the 10lb-check was the rule for all weights, Alvarez would be cheating; it's not.
No different than with the process it took the WBC/WBA/IBF to work around each other's mandatories (to encourage title unifications), the IBF needs the other governing bodies to adopt their standard (just as the WBC is waiting on the other governing bodies to follow their lead on independent testing).
Still, with the continued insistence from Golovkin and his camp of being a small middleweight, the weight check shouldn't impact him, whether Alvarez does it or notComment

He was already middleweight champion of the worldComment

That if Canelo doesn't want to fight for the IBF title, then Golovkin won't have to make a 2nd day weigh in. He didn't give more detail.
What I believe: they either negotiated with the IBF this point, or they will vacate the IBF title too, if Canelo does.Comment
