I see rehydration clause and ibf weighin as 2 different things, but who knows what oscar really meant...

So all of that has already been worked out.
Yes. As long as 160 is hit then you'd imagine all is good, but everybody went into a craze with Jacobs. I don't follow the IBF rules about 2nd day ''early morning'' weigh in vs how much later before the fight or a ''fight night'' IBF weight regulation... thus, there's no rehydration clause between the Promoters.

So, will the IBF allow GGG to defend the title by not following their rules? So is the IBF cheating for GGG?

Oscar De La Hoya is afraid for Canelo Alvarez! And these contractual terms unearth this......

Why on earth is Canelo Alvarez not fighting for the IBF title? I thought he wanted to become the Middle-weight Champion of the world etc

I'm guessing since both K2 and GBP reached an agreement that they also checked in with the IBF regarding their rules before reaching their agreement.

Perhaps if both fighters agree to not do a second day morning weigh in then the IBF title is just not on the line for the fight.

More light on this will come to fruition in time if Canelo decides to not fight for the IBF belt.

Until there is one main belt again this stuff is always going to happen about something. F#ck the belts.

These are the two best guys in the division, whoever wins is the champ in my & most peoples minds regardless if they got 1 or all 4 belts the day after the fight.

Nope... They simply don't fight for that belt and IBF agreed on this... (i.e. GGG keeps the belt...)

would canelo benefit from gaining more weight? is not like he is already bigger than GGG, he isn't. he is short and with slow feet

If the 10lb-check was the rule for all weights, Alvarez would be cheating; it's not.

No different than with the process it took the WBC/WBA/IBF to work around each other's mandatories (to encourage title unifications), the IBF needs the other governing bodies to adopt their standard (just as the WBC is waiting on the other governing bodies to follow their lead on independent testing).

Still, with the continued insistence from Golovkin and his camp of being a small middleweight, the weight check shouldn't impact him, whether Alvarez does it or not
