Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Canelo Couldn't Hurt Chavez or Cotto - He Won't Hurt GGG!

Abel Sanchez, trainer of IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs), has no doubt that his boxer will be too much for Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs). The fight is signed, sealed and delivered - and scheduled to take place on September 16th as part of Mexican Independence Day weekend.

Don't think that matters, he obviously hit hard enough to keep them at bay. If he can outbox GGG then he would be getting the decision.

He had enough power to keep Cotto on the run and Chavez gun shy, but he doesn't have life ending power

He hit hard enough to keep Chavez hesitant.

I think everyone will be surprised. When Golovkin gets hit he gets hit CLEAN. Canelo can hurt Golovkin if he catches him with some good shots.

I think Canleo has enough pop to keep GGG honest early and mid-rounds, but eventually, Golovkin starts walking him down late.

I don't see Canelo having the type of power to completely change the outcome of the fight if Golovkin takes control.

Golovkin eats every uppercut his opponents throw. Canelo has some great uppercuts. You ******s think Golovkin can't be hurt, ANYONE can be hurt, nobodies chin is unbreakable.

Canelo doesn't need to hurt him...so long as he doesn't get KO'd himself.

If Canelo gets it to the scorecards I highly doubt that Gennady wins, barring a few knockdowns.

Canelo's a better boxer than 3G. It's really hard to see Gennady winning enough rounds over the course of a 12 round fight with Canelo to get a decision.

I mean I could be wrong...I want to be wrong -- I'm rooting for Golovkin, but I have my doubts.
