Well they fight two divisons above them it's rather unfair to judge them based off of that. In fact that's precisely what P4P is for.

Roman Gonzalez was #1 for some months and he couldn't beat any other guys on the top 10 list.

You could realistically have the four top P4P fighters in those two matchups, which shows how great a year it is for boxing.

No doubt, he's P4P if he wins. No excuses please. The great Canelo has stepped up to the plate and is putting his head on the line. Courage like this hasn't been seen since Ali stepped in the ring to face the young, ferocious and hard-hitting Foreman. What balls!

Na. If the Ward-Kovalev rematch produces a clear winner, he'll be #1 P4P. GGG is clearly behind both of those guy. Especially after his last two performances. Ward and Kovalev's only close fight as pros came to each other. GGG's came against Danny Jacobs, who's far from elite. Plus, Ward and Kovalec have better overall resumes, especially Ward.

I don't see how beating GGG puts Canelo ahead of Ward should he beat Kov again.

Espn has ggg at number one and Canelo at 7 and ward kov somewhere in between. If you are at 7 and beat number 1, then you should be number 1

ODH is just being a promoter right now. Smart of him to make people think and discuss where Canelo belongs. Ward is clearly #1 tho.

Since when did those of us with accounts on NSB care about who ESPN has ranked #1?

That said, Ward is #2 and Kov#3. I don't see how Canelo jumps above Ward, especially if Ward has beaten Kov again.

It's debatable, just pointing one source. I think winner of those two fights, should be 1,2 either way you wanna put them.
