Idk, everyone that came over and watched the fight left pretty satisfied at the beating Chavez took. They didn't pay a dime so that could've been a factor.Comment

I'm split on this news moving forward.
Is it good 1M people paid to see this bs fight? Obviously not from a entertainment value POV.
Is it good 1M people saw that WWE GGG vs Canelo situation at the end the fight that was more entertaining then the actual fight they just watched? Yea definitely. Took a bad taste out of my mouth personally lol.
Now how do those two things add up next time for Canelo vs GGG? My gut says Canelo vs GGG does bigger numbers than whatever this fight did by maybe 25%+. But logically I kinda feel like this fight should hurt Canelo vs GGG numbers. Then again since when are boxing fans logical doe?Comment

That's good news for the Golovkin fight then... Because that's a way bigger fight.
My initial prediction was 1.1M for Golovkin vs. Canelo, seeing these numbers and the hype behind the fight, I can see at least 1.5M and possibly 2M if they're lucky.Comment

I watched it at a friend's house -- he used to be a casual fan back in the day -- he was big on Tyson, DLH, and Roy Jones...but somewhere along the line phased it out of his life completely.
I tried to get him hyped for the fight; had him watch Face-off with Kellerman and the HBO special on the fight. But then of course came the fight.
When it was over he turned to me and said, "that's why I quit watching boxing".Comment
