That is good news but I wish the fight was better.

Everybody that saw the fight in my hose left dissatisfied or simply did not finish watching the fight.

Hardcore fight fans will come back regardless but those causal ones will think again.

I think Canelo-GGG does 1M+ as well. It's going to attract more casuals/MMA fans/young white guys

Idk why ppl don't understand this. Everyone at the fight party left pissed and talking about how they always get suckered into a big fight and it ends up being garbage. A million ppl saw the worst possible fight available.

It's like dropping off a bunch of garbage weed and then after your clients spent all their money, you tell them that the real fire weed is coming 4 months.

Ppl expected what they seen in Rocky VI, that's the whole problem.
It's BS. It's an agenda against Mayweather and was used to explain why people didn't buy GGG's fight which was the next PPV after MAY/PAC. But the one after that was Canelo/Cotto and it did 900k.

I'll ask you like I ask everyone else. Which one of these PPV fights were affected by May/Pac? And explain why May/Pac hurt their number.

GGG/Lemieux- Both first time on PPV. Lemieux previous fight was on Fox Sports 2 and he'd never headlined an HBO championship boxing main event

Berto/Mayweather A fight no one asked for

Cotto/Canelo Two fighters with a history of solid PPV numbers. Mexico vs. PR rivalry. Did great numbers as expected

Pacquiao/Bradley III nobody wanted this fight. Completely unnecessary. Did horrible numbers by Pacquiao's standards

Crawford/Postol Do I have to explain to you why this one did horrible numbers?

Canelo/Khan Did decent numbers. A little bit better than Canelo's average.

Ward/Kovalev First PPV for both fighters. Kovalev's prior fight was in Russia and shown on a Monday night. Ward's prior fight had little promotion and didn't get a million viewers. Kovalev gets good ratings on HBO but he doesn't sell tickets. Meaning people like to watch him on TV but they aren't going to pay to watch him

Jacobs/GGG: Showed GGG is about a 150k PPV seller. Jacobs added little to the buys because it did around the same numbers as GGG's previous PPV. His fight prior was on HBO in the middle of the day and was his lowest rating since his last HBO middle of the day fight. Jacobs prior fight was on Spike TV against an opponent nobody wanted to see him face again.

Klitschko/Joshua Great PPV numbers and ticket sales

Canelo/Chavez Jr Two known names with built in fan bases. Did great numbers

Most people who started watching the fight weren't watching during that time. People were pissed off. I know ya'll are happy Canelo got big numbers and the GGG fight was announced but I don't think ya'll understand how upset people were at that fight. Like I said earlier, this fight had a lot of casual fans watching. They don't know who the hell GGG is. They don't know the history behind GGG and Canelo. They didn't pay $70 to see a fight announcement. Step outside the boxing bubble and you'll see people are complaining about the fight and not even talking about the GGG/Canelo fight
