Canelo should of stopped Chavez, he should of closed the show. Chavez was in no way a risk or danger to Canelo so Canelo should of went for the ko. It would of made a big statement and a ko would of started the psychological aspect of his fight with GGG. A ko would of sent a message to GGG that Canelo has the power to ko a 185lb 6'1" fighter with a solid chin then he could ko GGG. But he refused to close the show. If you listen to Canelo's corner the instruction they were giving Canelo sounded paranoid and showed little confidence in their fighter. Canelo's corner is going to be the end of him. If you listen to his corner in all of his most important fights they basically are in panic as if Canelo has a glass jaw and is on the edge of getting ko'd all the time. Just listen to the corner in this past fight, Cotto fight, Trout fight, and Lara fight (almost cost him the fight). They are constantly telling Canelo to be too overly cautious and not take any risks. One would think after Canelo's corner fell silent in the middle of the Mayweather fight he would of fired them back then.

Like I wrote before this is chess not checkers, every minute that canelo didnt ko jr is invaluable practice to see how he responded to going full 12, & it avoided ANY chance of potential injury. ANY injury can have serious affects,& now instead of gigi having an advantage of extra time to prepare while canelo recovers, canelo can go right into training. That's why Imo he wins vs g,because he has been preparing himself over his entire career at his own pace, despite what anyone thinks. Gigi is much more inexperienced than canelo,& older too. Plus his record is deceptive as most his fights vs nobodies he ko'd didn't teach him how to manage a champ over 12 rds as we seen vs jacobs. Almost all fights with 2 elite fighters end by decision(except hws or close to it),I expect this to go the distance & gigi will drown in deep waters.

Because it was. When the fight was announced, a lot of posters here said Canelo would batter him.

The only reason this fight isn't being trashed is because they announced the GGG-CANELO fight. Sorry but that doesn't let you off the hook in my book. We essentially paid $70 for a fight announcement

The fact is that almost everyone in the industry,& fans thought this would be at least a competitive slugfest & maybe expose canelo as the flat track bully of lil guys many claim. That should be reason not to trash the fight being made, when martinez did the same to jr it wasnt trashed as a garbage fight just jr was trashed as a disgraceful garbage fighter who didnt care.

NOBODY said canelo would win 12 rds, esp. without sitting down,so its easy to be angry but this is boxing & anything can happen, including jr disgracing his fathers name & Canelo putting on a clinic. But point me to a post of anyone who predicted that this wouldn't at least be entertaining, ive seen many say jr is garbage or would get kod,but they said that about every canelo opponent too( & most were ggg fanbois, some of whom said canelo would get ko'd),& many were great fights so I cant take that seriously despite me having posted a dead on prediction except I predicted jr would get stopped in 9 & I didnt expect a shutout,I expected jr to have his moments. But NOBODY could have possibly expected this abomination, including dlh, gbp,or canelo. Ggg & trainer didnt even expect this,& sanchez hates on canelo regularly.

Canelo literally tried to let jr hit him to make it interesting, but even when he tried to draw jr into a slugfest jr cowers in fear because canelo would unload vicious combos. Look at compubox jr threw almost 6x as many punches as landed,& he knew there was literally nothing he could do as I genuinely believe he just wanted to survive because he didnt want to be called a quitter again, esp. After canelo predicted hed quit.

Martinez v. Chavez Jr was a fight that had to happen. This one didn't have to happen. That's the difference

I thought chavez's issue would be inactivity because that's his style, but I didnt expect him to not throw at all.

That face off seems to have come true, chavez was dominated by canelo mentally then, and he showed up to the fight scared.

Dont get me wrong it was an abomination,im glad I watched it free in bar. But honestly NOBODY couldve expected jr to cower in fear on cinco de mayo,& it def shouldve happened as like I had written beforehand I knew it meant ggg in September. Check my history & youll see I told several tards that the fight will def happen in Sept. I was told canelo"will keep ducking until 2018 & keep aging him" & I told someone that itll get made in September for sure & if gigi loses theyll claim nelo "aged him" then jubei & fanbois claimed it would mean that he aged him no matter what.
It was always going to be a low risk heavier fighter who was going to be the acid test before gigi, the logic is if he can destroy jr whos much bigger& go 12 with extra weight then hes ready to move up permanently.

But I will def agree that jr should move to another country as everyone will laugh at him everytime he goes anywhere, that should be @ least some small repayment to those he robbed,& it was him whos solely to blame as well as bernistain who said publicly that he "is afraid jr wont listen & will try to brawl canelo rather than emulate lara" I told everyone bernistain is a overrated chump whos only expertise is using heroidia to cheat.

I was interested to see what Canelo would look like when he hadn't drained himself to make an unnaturally low weight. I thought he might have the extra pop in his punches he's going to need to have any chance of beating GGG.

35 is old for a pressure fighter with a lot of miles on the clock, like GGG. Especially one who does year round VADA testing. But Canelo could stall for another 10 years and it wouldn't make any difference. He has lead feet and no power. Golovkin with one foot in the grave would still beat Canelo.
