I dont doubt canelo didnt really hurt him cause canelo was teeing off and never once did chavez buckle or whatever.

Chavez Jr. is like a lot of other people always making excuses, and it is always someone else's' fault. I like Canelo's work ethic. He takes responsibility and doesn't blame others. Canelo is smart, takes the profession seriously and improves with every fight. I know a lot of retired Mexican fighters are down on him. I am not sure what that is about.

It is about Canelo's big mouth and hubris TODAY. He makes most Mexican people feel 2nd-hand embarrassment every time he is in an interview.

I am too tired now to check for the exact quotes, specially the ones he made after the Khan and Chavez Jr. fights, maybe you can check them out yourself, but believe me, if you are fluent in Spanish and have heard him say the crap he has said (not the ridiculously inaccurate translations into English), you will realize Canelo is an arrogant braggart WHO WAS NOT LIKE THAT when he was younger and he was not "a big star."

Specially his allusions to having "big balls", his saying that "Mexicans dont f.uc.k around" addressing/challenging GGG and then declining to fight him at 160, his declaring ****** embarrassing crap like "I was born without fear, I got no share of it, it was already given to everybody else," and "luck is for mediocre people" in an answer to GGG's wishing him good luck in good faith, while GGG was confidently looking at Canelo in the eyes, and Canelo was never making eye contact with GGG while spewing out his ******ity (a sign that Canelo IS STILL AFRAID of GGG).

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. He has said in many occasions that he is the #1 P4P fighter, even after his lackluster performances vs. Mayweather Jr., Lara, Cotto and even Trout.

He is an arrogant bastard and correct me if I am wrong, but most people dislike that type of person. When he was a young and hungry fighter he was humble and likable. He talked little, and fought a lot. Now he is an egocentric person pretty much the same as Floyd became after his dubious wins over Castillo and De La Hoya which catapulted him into huge fame.

Bottom line, his "new" personality, as in an embarrassing and arrogant show-off is what has made him a very unlikable character to most Mexicans in the business.

Heavy is the Mexican crown. If the other Mexicans in the business dislike Canelo, it's no secret as to why. Jealousy is a very, very old emotion.

You CLEARLY have no idea what your talking about,canelo is a very humble fighter who respects his opponents & doesnt go talking shlt like almost every single other fighter,he only says shlt when they say it like jr was doing it all over the media,even using a rubber chicken to insult him. & You are insane if you dont think a top p4p fighter wont say hes the best,the fact that hes fought those fighters who gigi wouldn't face despite many opportunities shows why boxrec has him ranked no 1 p4p,& thats based on resume alone & strength of competition,how he beat them,etc. Unlike other p4p that are opinion based. Theres literally less than 4 current fighters whos resume compares.

Canelo is 1 of the most respectful fighters period,yet gigi went all over the media b4 jacobs fight saying how" canelos accomplished nothing,im tired of him,I done with him,hes nobody," then in same interview he says"canelo needs to stop being selfish & make deal with me" he also said"yes" when asked if there was the offer Loeffler even confirmed. The same guy who just last month claimed he can make 154 easily,(&wants a 2yrs retired ww,4less than canelo) the same guy who has always said ANYONE from154-168 then picks a welter instead of Lara,trout,andrade,charlo @160. Ya that guys humble alright by calling a 5'9" jmw with a top 5 p4p resume,whos only 26 & fought mayweather @23 & days, a bum coward.

The same guy whos had the option to make 3x his highest 1off payday & top 3 in p4p of earnings,@ any time by signing the contract as hes admitted himself. Was calling canelo a coward 4 not "fighting him" aka "give me more money since its my only career payday over 5mil ill ever make again."
