I thought Canelo looked strong with his punches. He was really sitting down in them and throwing them with conviction. Not that Chavez threw many punches but his defense appears to be better to.

Canelo has never been a devestating puncher. He's not a one punch knock out guy.

I mean he's strong and hits hard, but it's not devestating or great power. It's only really big power to the little guys that are smaller than him or guys who have glass jaws.

Consider he couldn't knock out Matthew Hatton, Old Mosley, Trout, Angulo (the ref stopped it, I mean Angulo was getting battered but he was still coherent, he was angry at the ref and complained when the fight got stopped), Cotto and weight drained punching bag Chavez Jr.

The guys he did knock out badly were little Josesito Lopez, glass jaw Kirkland, little glass jaw Khan and Liam Smith.

Chavez Jr. is right. I mean he can feel the thud and force of the punches because of Canelo's strength. But the impact of the punches on guys Canelo's size or bigger are not going to effect them like they do to the smaller guys Canelo has fought or the guys who have glass jaws that he's fought.

Canelo is not the biggest test for GGG. It was 6'1 180 lbs DJ.

GGG though says war but expect to see another 12 rounds of boxing the way he did with DJ.

Only difference would be. DJ was ****ing scared for life and kept eating jabs all night. Canelo is aggressive.

How someone could continue talking after getting a 12 round ass beating is beyond me. I bet Chavez Sr wish he could go back in time and probably disown Jr or make his mom swallow him instead.

So Golovkin already won. Time to start thinking about the Gilberto Ramirez fight. Yet another 100% predictable PPV rip off shight.

Exactly. You can't get on your hands and knees. Stick your arse in the air and take it. And then talk crap. Biggest fight of your life and you layed down like a *****.

                this score is not settled

dont know if you guys realize but the reason they call him chavez jr is because julio cesar chavez is his dad... those are some fighting genes

picking chavez jr by dominant ko in the rematch

If C jr is going to fight he needs to go to 168 and prove himself . He is at the bottom. If the weight hurt him he can show that by taking some fights at his proper weight

What is Chavez Jr's point? Ali was not a one punch ko artist, neither was Chavez Sr for that matter, nor was Marvin Hagler or Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran or a bunch of others. But the opponents got the message when these guys hit them. Canelo, like a lot of others, relies on combinations and accuracy. Rare are the Earnie Shavers of this world that can put people to sleep with one punch.

Beat me too it his face showed a different story and the way he quit in the fight admitted he stopped throwing because he was afraid of getting countered by those punches. Canelo is skilled he doesn't need to rely on 1 shot. Has enough pop but what makes his special is his speed and timing.
