I do believe Canelo would have knocked Chavez Jr. out if Jr. would have stood his ground and chosen to exchange with Canelo. He didn't because he was afraid of being put to sleep by the counters. It is hard for any fighter to knock someone out who is fighting just to survive. That notwithstanding, GGG is definitely the bigger puncher. Going to be a good fight.

dont know if you guys realize but the reason they call him chavez jr is because julio cesar chavez is his dad... those are some fighting genes

picking chavez jr by dominant ko in the rematch
You can't be serious. This was almost as bad as Lewis/McCall 2. Without the ref stoppage. Had that been Tony Weeks we would have gotten that stoppage by Round 6.

All the sudden you don't see Juniors old man spouting off his total BS they both should just float away and get away from boxing...stop deteriorating the sport you go back to their local Cantinas...

Nacho basically admitted this he was scared to be hit. Canelo busted his face up and it would of been way worse probably knocked out if Chavez let's his hands go which leaves him vulnerable for counters and combos. He felt canelos pop that's why he shut it down.

Why he is still talking is beyond me he needs a rock to crawl under after being embarrassed.

Martinez did a lot more damage than Canelo. I don't think Chavez is lying.

Chavez has no pride, no shame, just nothing. He was in the fight of his life and folded like a lawn chair. **** him. He's an embarrassment.

Before the fight, as the Mexican anthem was playing we saw ****** Jr playing patty-cake... camera then snaps to Canelo standing, fist clamped to his chest, respectful and silent... there's a world of difference between entitlement and dedication

Chavez Jr. is like a lot of other people always making excuses, and it is always someone else's' fault. I like Canelo's work ethic. He takes responsibility and doesn't blame others. Canelo is smart, takes the profession seriously and improves with every fight. I know a lot of retired Mexican fighters are down on him. I am not sure what that is about.

The 164.5 with a strict penalty was not arbitrary.
Canelo did to Chavez, what Mayweather did to Canelo. Canelo at 152 wasn't worth a **** against Mayweather, and it was embarrassingly one-sided.

                      Canelo/Mayweather at 154, Canelo/Chavez at 168?
Perhaps the same outcome, but would at least be more competitive.

This was a sparring session to serve as a trailer for Canelo/GGG
