It wasn't free if you had HBO you were extorted 100 bucks for it. And that left a mark. I try to talk boxing and get a co-worker to watch a boxing match 6 months after that and 5 mins in they bringing up that fight and saying how much boxing as a sport sucks. NOBODY was saying that after the Fury fight.
The article said boxing and PPV. Since only diehard fans watched it did the fight turn diehard fans off because it did better numbers stateside than Klitschko vs. Joshua.

I'm just trying to make a point that this is lazy journalism. There is no facts or figures to back up this claim. It's nothing but opinion. You would think readers would demand facts and figures when claims like this are made. But instead everybody goes with popular opinion.

I listed the PPV's post May-Pac and the ones that should've done well did do well. The ones that shouldn't have been PPV didn't do so well.

Overpricing the floyd/manny fight and the shyt show that went on was the opposite of entertaining and turned off a lot of fans. Guys who were on the fence left boxing and guys who gave boxing a chance left that fight saying phuk this sport. Die hard fans we could care less about this but to casual fans that matters.
I understand your point. Casual fans want to see the ko, but as a real boxing fan, while I prefer excitement, I also want to go into the fight not knowing what the end result would be. Canelo has been a heavy favorite in these last 3 ppvs fights so that takes some of the excitement out for me because the winner is almost as close to certain as you can get.

I agree with you 100%. I'm just curious if there's an article by industry that broke down the metrics of Joshua vs Klitschko. They said Sky, HBO, Showtime etc brought 10mil plus viewers. I don't think that will beat Chavez Jr. vs Alvarez.

I think its true. Boxing fans are pissed about that. Other casuals that bought PPV are probably embarrassed to do so.

Mayweather - Berto did like 300-400k which for mayweather is really bad. I mean Canelo-Khan did more than that.

I don't think it hurt boxing that bad. Ppl are still lining up clamouring for Mayweather vs. McGergor which will likely break records as well. Lmao. There's a lot of things that are wrong with boxing. It's ****** to blame one fight.

For once i agree with Canelo, that stinker of a "mega fight" was not worth the money, glad that Lomachenko was on that undercard who really showed skills!!!!

that is why Lomachenko >>>>>> Mayweather. Even if he did not face the same competition YET. He is already miles better then Mayweather skillwise.

German TV brought in 10mil. Showtime and HBO did about a mil and a half and so for SKY PPV
