Prime Iron Mike versus Joshua or Wilder today

I've always knew and stated that Mike Tyson's greatest downfall and worst possible opponent is someone who is big (in height, weight and reach) + skilled. Being big alone certainly isn't enough if skills don't complement the size advantage. Thus, Deontay Wilder isn't going to be this type of threatening opponent for Mike Tyson as he is one of the least skilled 'big' heavyweight champions in history. Some of his technique is below average and some are even below contender level. This is why Deontay Wilder doesn't fulfill that type of boxer to pose that much of a threat to Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson does something similar or maybe even worse to Deontay Wilder what Evgeny Romanov did to Deontay Wilder in the amateurs when Wilder was knocked out:
Anthony Joshua on the other hand, is a big heavyweight who is also decently skilled. If it's the current Anthony Joshua (who has decent skills but is still relatively unrefined) vs peak Mike Tyson, then it's a 50/50 fight for me that could go absolutely either way. I personally see it lasting the distance and could very well be a draw or a close decision for either. However, in a few years time (assuming that Anthony Joshua would further refine / improve his skills as the most likely scenario), then I will favor him by a bigger margin to beat Mike Tyson.
A big skillful boxer will be the favorite to beat a small skilled boxer. However, Deontay Wilder is anything but skilled even though he is big. A big unskilled boxer can be beaten lopsidedly by a small skilled boxer.Comment

Fair enough I complete agree with your premise that size wouldn't determine everything & you've put forth a good argument so bravo.
I personally don't think Dempsey would be competitive due to his skill set I've witnessed on footage but again that's hypothetical so I'm not right or wrong nor are you.
With all due to respect, I'll be the first to state that Mike Tyson practically has 0 chances of beating Wladimir Klitschko, Lennox Lewis, Vitalki Kltischko and some of the other SKILLED super sized modern heavyweights. I doubt he even stands a punchers chance!
However, Deontay Wilder doesn't fulfill that position as he doesn't fulfill the main criteria, which are 'SKILLS'. He isn't just low skilled boxer, but he is HORRIBLY low skilled. Some of his technique are at club level for goodness sake. Mike Tyson was more than capable of exploiting those flaws and weaknesses. His skills can definitely overcome the slight size advantage of Deontay Wilder (even though he isn't actually that much heavier in weight but only has height and reach advantages which isn't as important as weight).
Anthony Joshua is a different story however!Comment

Lewis would have difficulties against a fast starting PRECISION power puncher of Tyson caliber ,real fights show this (even Briggs had him stunned ,end of rnd 1 and Grant in the opening bell ,there are others ) the problem here is we also saw in the actual fight that Tyson had won rnd 1 ,2 MAYBE 3 ....
PRIME Tyson (which we are discussing )will get in on Lewis and be more MUCH harder to hit ,THEREFOR a great counter puncher bc thats what MADE him hard to defeat . Why would Joshua pose more theat than Lewis ?
Because he himself does his best work within 5 rnds and likes the fast pace fight ,and is faster than a Lewis ,and wont be using many jabs for Tyson to slip (Tyson excelled with tall jabbers ) bc Joshua LIKESthe close quarters .
Wlad simply does not take well when pressed the two fighters Peter and Joshua SHOW this as well to some extent Brewster ,though Wlad tired out .
Tyson is the favorite in this match ,hes still proven more durable of taken long term hard shots and in a fast paced fight hes still the more refined fighter vs a Joshua of 19 fights ! The difference between Joshua and the big HW's Tyson fought are hes not there to survive hes there to end fights quick and forces you to go for a K.O or hes going to do that to you ....this fight does not go the distance !Last edited by juggernaut666; 05-11-2017, 04:27 PM.Comment

He wouldn't even have had a punchers chance?

Explain to me how the following quotes are logical:
"Wilder wud knock him spark out"
"But he wud make aj look like a fool"
"Fury wud probably kill him"
?
Joshua is a much better fighter than Wilder. Wilder is very flawed, with awful technique. If Mike was good enough to have beaten Joshua, it doesn't make sense that he'd have lost to Wilder.
How would Tyson Fury have killed him? He's not a puncher. The majority of his stoppages have been accumulative TKO's. If Fury had won, it would have been on a decision. He could not have stopped Mike.
Do you understand?
Your quotes make zero sense.Comment
