I remember this about and if he sues anyone should be his Corner who should have stopped this fight two rounds earlier, he was taking a beating and didn't know how to react... they're looking for a settlement on the 50 mil...

This is why I think they won't win. The corner kept sending him back out. The Ref, Fighter, and Doctor should all be banned from the sport if they haven't been already. This is why they want to raise the insurance for promoters in NY.

I think this family is getting bad legal advice. Why would you sue the promoters? The promoter would seem to be one of the least involved when something happens in the ring. I mean sh^t once the show starts is kinda when the promoters job is done. Its the commissions party from there.

Well that is one of the problems with lawsuits, in the States especially. They just throw a large net and sue as many people as possible hoping they can get something out of someone. Go through that **** in my business 4-5 times a year. Its ****ed up, but it is what it is.

I saw that fight. The kid was getting tag with everything. He was clearly loosing the fight. If someone should be sued, it should be his trainer. That fight should have been stopped way earlier.

People sue for large sums of money all the time. Doesn't mean they'll get it. I've read reports on Prichard, and it really is a sad state of affairs. I feel terrible for him and his family. Money would help ease their burden as Prichard requires round-the-clock care. Just my two cents, but I agree with the guys here saying the Colon family isn't likely to get anything. For starters, it's a combat sport. Fighters have been known to suffer life-altering injuries, or even die. You would have to prove negligence. I don't see that here, not from the reports I've read. A fighter saying his head hurts, or he's dizzy, doesn't mean much in a sport where people get punched repeatedly in the head. Besides, his corner could've easily stopped the fight. I wish the Colon family the best, but I don't think they're going to win this lawsuit.
