No there not Brock, McCline, Estrada and Elder will never be top guys in there divisions and are not considerd "Major Players".
Shane Mosley is sliding big time.
Best card in recent memory
DLH vs Sturm
Hopkins vs Allen
Castillo vs Lazcano
That card was ridiculous, Hopkins fought a guy for the 3rd time even though the 1st 2 fights were not even competitive. Juan Diaz is a champion at his weight and, I consider him a major player in that division. He doesnt hold that belt for nothing and Ebo will take it.
DLH vs Sturm wasnt even competitive in that fight.
Their hasnt been a good ppv card in years, These fights SHOULD be exciting to watch and a bit better matchups then we had gotten accustomed to in 2004.

Im sorry did you just say Ebo Elder is going to take Juan Diaz's belt?
You had the undisputed Middle weight Champion, The Ring Lightweight Champion and the biggest draw in boxing on one card.
Now I know its no Calvin Brock/Jameal McCline, but I mean come on.
They got really good ratings all above 1.0, I realize those are not primetime numbers or anything but hardly anybody is home or even watching tv on saturdays at 3 to 5pm in which the card aired (except maybe us) I think if NBC would put it in a primetime slot it would have done some pretty good numbers, but that is a huge risk and unfortunately NBC will use the contender ratings to probably determine their future on boxing. Although you dont have to be an expensive cable subscriber to get NBC and that would pull in more ratings. One thing not to forget is that nbc/abc ruled boxing for many years on television in the past and constantly aired Ali and Leonard fights. So SOMETHING must have been done right.
Im also curious to see the kind of ratings HBO/Showtime fights pull in, It was rumored that to become an HBO exclusive fighter you had to pull in ratings around the 3.0 mark. I cant believe it, however you put Oscar De La Hoyas ass on a primetime slot on any of those channels (abc/nbc/fox/cbs) and in a ring and you can bet your behind that their would be ratings above the 6.0 mark, which would have done better numbers than JOEY.
I had forgotten that Spinks..youre right, they did use to show alot of boxing but stopped for some reason years ago. I'm just glad that the ratings were good enough that they risked another season of it, and another one coming up! The only problem with prime time is if it's on Sat (like in the past) then they will occasionally go up against a fight on HBO and/or Sho..that could be a problem and would definately affect the ratings. I dont believe that just cause it's on HBO or Sho that it will be a better fight so I'd probably choose the NBC over them if I was forced to pick, but alot of fans dont think that way..they had better stick to daytime or do it on a different day of the week.

Showtime usually broadcasts the first Saturday of every months and HBO usually does on in the middle or end. NBC shouldnt have to but could plan according to HBO's schedule. Although NBC wouldnt want to step aside for another channel. Although it would benefit them in the long run. Saturday evenings would be perfect, Better yet do it when their is high tv ratings and everybody is home. USA had success on Tuesday nights, Monday or Tuesday nights in prime slots would be great to put boxing on in the evenings. Everybody is home, FX also had success with their Toughman Series oddly enough.

Interesting..I dont watch FX that much, and definately have never seen that Toughman show. I'm sure that the guys at NBC are smart enough to plan around any big fights that might come on HBO or Showtime so we can watch it all. So far I've been more than pleased with what NBC has offered..and they surprised me by showing such good fights from the very beginning..they didnt take any time to 'warm up' or anything before they had some good action going on. I loved every minute of it and really look forward to next spring!
Are you people serious? That card is garbage and guys are acting like its the Revenge card from 94.
Diaz vs Elder- EASY fight for Diaz anyone who thinks Elder will even be competative is blinded by his entertaining style and not looking at his actual skills.
Mosley vs Estrada- Mosley is washed up and this is still an EASY win for him.
McCline vs Brock- Someone want to tell me what either of these two guys have ever done to be regarded as good?
Margarito vs Cintron- Good fight
I like the card because there are for the most part some big names on the card, but your right only one fight on the card figures to be a guarantee for a competitive fight and that would be Cintron/Margarito.
I agree that Ebo is not a very good fighter he is way overrated on this site, he is a B level fighter at best that will beat a lot of average guys but when he has to step up his comp he will always lose. What Im not sure of is how good Diaz is, granted I think he beats Ebo but I think it will be a pretty good scrap for a while, maybe even the entire fight...Im just not sold on the Baby Bull yet.
As for Mosely...he should be able to outclass Estrada but I love watching David fight, he comes at you and wings punches all night long-it is too bad he does not have real power.I think he at least makes the fight fun for a few rounds because he will pressure Mosley until he gets ko'd-basically he will force shane to knock him out and that will be fun too watch.
McCline is a ***** and Brock is certainly nothing special.
$19-$29 bucks would be fine by me. Not a great card but I think it will get my attention and my money. Jose please don't make fun of anything I have said, your putting me down over the LL threads really hurt...right on dude.
