Who will be the bigger star: Canelo or Joshua?

Even in pounds it's not more now you grasping at straws. Canelo/Cotto drew 13.5m in live gate off ticket sales good enough for 13th in Vegas history. This fight has same ticket prices but in a venue that holds almost double the amount of seats the new T-Mobile arena. The fight sold out months ago which means it's already guaranteed to be a higher live gate then the Cotto fight. Reports say Joshua fight did only 8m in live gate. Vegas charges more for tickets then they cost in the UK, PPV cost more in the US then they charge in the UK. That's why Canelo fights generate more money it's not a misunderstanding because dollars vs pounds you phuking dummy. This is you don't get that Canelo fights make more money from PPVs and Live Gates despite Joshua selling cheaper PPVs and selling tickets at a cheaper price over seas. LMAO
Just take your L and stop talking there is a reason even the die hard Joshua fans are not arguing that his fights make more money then Canelo.Last edited by bigdunny1; 05-05-2017, 10:24 AM.Comment

Canelo definitely draws more revenue but I don't think that will be the case for too much longer. I think Joshua has the ingredients to noticeably be the bigger star within a couple of years if he keeps it up. It'll be interesting to see what Canelo-GGG can generate if that fight happens in September...Canelo drew 18m viewers in mexico just to see him fight unknow smith but I'm not even talking viewers I'm talking revenue. Khan fight made more money then any joshua fight that's just a fact. And that is not even canelo biggest fight hes been a part of. cotto fight and floyd fight all made more the khan. And his Chavez fight will make more money then all of them except Floyd fight. Canelo is guaranteed to make over 20m more then Joshua just made. Canelo generates more money. Was the highest paid boxer in 2016 and will be the highest paid in 2017. A canelo/ggg fight generates more then any fight Joshua can make.Comment

How many future hof fighters has Canyellow beat???? Definetly no more than Joshua. And definitely not in his first 20 pro fights.Who gives a damn about the UK (no offense)! We're talking about the US, where the real money is at. AJ aready fought Klitschko, and you called Fury a retired fighter. So Wilder is the fight that needs to be made. But has AJ called him out? Nope. Did Wilder's name come up once in his post fight interview? Nope.
At the moment Canelo is the bigger star. But as soon as AJ fights in the States, the ******* media and ******* ESPN will be all over the fact that he's black and a muzzie.
And NO he hasn't fought better competition than Canelo.Comment

Joshua has a story. He DID something. He fought the best guy in his division and won.
Canelo has no story. He doesn't even have a division. So there IS no "best guy." How convenient! Except we all know that Golovkin is the guy. Will Canelo ever really fight him? Doubtful.
Major point to Joshua. His story: Beat the best in dramatic fashion.
Canelo's story: Ducked the best in dramatic fashion.
Bigger upside: JoshuaComment

You brought up smith fight to avoid comparing Joshua/Klitch to Canelo/Chavez both fighters most recent fights. So if you want to go back to Canelo/Smith then the proper comparison is Joshua/Molina. As for Cotto fight I brought that up because clearly Canelo's fight tomorrow doesn't have any figures yet but we do know that it has ALREADY exceeded the live gate of Canelo/Cotto which had the same ticket prices as Canelo/Chavez but in a smaller venue. Please son try and keep up. Either way you want to play with the numbers Canelo's fight's draw more. You all giddy because Joshua filled up 90K but Floyd literally owns the entire top 10 alltime in live gates generated and he never fought in even a 20K venue to do that. Tickets for Canelo's fights simply cost more then UK cheap tickets. And Canelo's PPVs cost more then cheap UK PPVs thats why he generates more. The Cotto fight sold just 10k tickets yet made MORE money off ticket sales then what Joshua did last week and Chavez will blow that number out the park tomorrow.
Joshua based on the price of his PPVs has to SELL over 3X as many as Canelo does just to match the money he generates. Because UK PPV cost about 20 bucks while in US they cost about 70 bucks for PPV. He sold 90K tickets and still made less money off tickets because they charge MORE money for each ticket in vegas. Avg ticket sold for Joshua fight last weekend is about 100 bucks. The avg ticket sold for Canelo fight is well over 800 bucks.Last edited by bigdunny1; 05-05-2017, 02:30 PM.Comment

I must've missed the fight where AJ beat Wilder, Ortiz, Parker, and the version if Fury that beat Wlad.
Joshua went life and death with a washed up, 41 year old, coming off an 18 month layoff, coming off a wide UD decision loss, never been the same since losing Steward, Klitschko.
You're on some good crack if you think Klitschko was the best in the division. Especially since he was coming off a loss.Comment

We're never going to see "the version of Fury that beat Wlad" again because that man is a nutcase. But my fingers are crossed that he comes back and fights Joshua. I hope the aging Wilder can do it, too.I must've missed the fight where AJ beat Wilder, Ortiz, Parker, and the version if Fury that beat Wlad.

Wlad was the best, was the face of the division for eons and Joshua got off the canvas to crush him. He didn't just outpoint him with cute moves; he broke his face.
When did Canelo crush a valid opponent? Ever?
Oh wait, he DID fight an ancient Floyd. Did he win a single round, really? He ******.Comment
