Comments Thread For: Vitali Klitschko: That Was Wladimir's Best Career Fight

Former WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko believes his younger brother, Wladimir Klitschko, had the best performance of his long career last Saturday night at Wembley Stadium in London. Klitschko suffered his second consecutive defeat, when he was stopped in eleven rounds before a record crowd of 90,000 fans.

I agree, that was Wlad's best career fight.

Ironically Vitali's best career fight also came in a loss to a Brit as well when he fought Lennox Lewis back in 2003.

this is what i keep telling knuckle heads.

wlad looked better then ever in that fight. wasn't old at all. I'd say he had more physical skills younger but his heart was not there in young wlad. he gets tapped or roughed up for a 2nd he would flop all over the place and end up getting knocked out. this wlad was more dangerous because he really really tried and his heart has improved 10 fold.

I'd take wlad from 37 to 41 vs any previous version of wlad honestly.

Wlad at 37 would've sealed the deal IMO.

Vitali is telling the truth. I've also never seen Wlad this good, EVER. I'm not sure if he can improve on that going forward. Maybe a perfect time to say goodbye to boxing as a boxer.

Wlad was more prepared than ever, a younger Wlad would've been out within 5 rounds. This version is the best mix of defense/offense I've ever seen from him, and his movement was still on point.

Under Steward he was way too reluctant to throw, but under Banks he became a much more offensive oriented fighter and found more of a balance than years past. The old Wlad would've been to scared to throw, this version showed actual toughness, a will to fight. He vastly improved mentally as a fighter and saw little to no physical regression.

Wladimir fought a hell of a fight at 41, no shame in losing to the likes of Fury and Joshua who have a combined record of 44-0. It was a changing of the guard there is no real reason to go on, he has done it all. But of course he will continue.

It would've been even better if Emanuel Steward was in the corner with Wladmir. He would've been screaming at him to go out there and finish AJ off.
