I'd say he had more physical skills younger but his heart was not there in young wlad. he gets tapped or roughed up for a 2nd he would flop all over the place and end up getting knocked out. this wlad was more dangerous because he really really tried and his heart has improved 10 fold.

I'd take wlad from 37 to 41 vs any previous version of wlad honestly.
It's a shame because I agree this Wlad had more determination and heart than of Wlad past, but this Wlad also clearly had deteriorated skill since the Wlad of past. The Wlad of past wouldn't miss with as many straights and left hooks as this Wlad did, he would've been more precise. So physically this Wlad was inferior but mentally and emotionally the 41 Wlad was superior.

I also agree, i keep seeing posts saying wlad was old , thats nonsense, he looked great. I think if he can fight like that at this age he should just fight wilder. He can beat him and im a wilder fan. Just being unbiased.

Ironically Vitali's best career fight also came in a loss to a Brit as well when he fought Lennox Lewis back in 2003.
Yeah...even more ironically is that in that fight the loser has retired the winner

And you know, to this day I so want to see that rematch. Lewis-Klitschko 2.

I sometimes wish Lennox lost that fight because then he would have had a rematch, been in better shape, had a full training camp to prepare for Klitschko instead of that fight where he trained for Kirk Johnson for most of the camp before he pulled out with injury. But oh well.

Some other similarities between these two fights is that both Klitschko brothers got cut on the left eye, Vitali's was way worse though. And both Klitschko brothers got hit with vicious uppercuts right before both fights ended. Both uppercuts happened in the last round of each fight.

Joshua was wearing red underwear. Mark the words. This is the last time 2017 AD, Joshua went down. this is not gonna ever be again.

Wlad certainly has nothing to be ashamed of, he fought like a true champ. I did grind on him a bit thru the years, but he always did great except for the Fury fight. If he wants to continue, he should. Just don't go overboard. He could beat most of the other HWs, including Wilder, Parker, etc. Only question marks would be Ortiz and Joshua, and maybe Fury II. I salute the guy, great career... and I would tell him to retire when he wants to retire, not before.

                    Altogether, yes.

But his hand speed and accuracy are clearly not what they used to be.

                      It's his brother.

The best Wlad was 2010ish. He was so dominant it was boring and Chagaev-Chambers-Peter-Haye were all pretty one sided but that would be the Wlad you want for the fantasy matchups.

Looked a lil shaky vs Pulev but solved it with his power. Looked really slow and flat vs Jennings. A shadow vs Fury. Joshua was a nothing to lose/gift for the fans type deal.
