I'm starting to see things from his perspective. If he had legal troubles then a further 15 day extension sounds reasonable. I wish all this was apparent at the time instead of the "he was scared and vacated" narrative.
this is a big hit to sulaiman pockets not just the sanctioning fees...

I'm very aware of why the WBC are trying to involve themselves, that being $$$

nowadays fighters can fight for more prize money than fighting for trinkets. no one is giving cotto beef after he didnt want to pay wbc more sanction funds and was stripped of the wbc belt as well. GGG was mandatory and cotto was to pay GGG 800k to allow the cotto vs canelo fight and cotto was also to pay $150k to wbc. wbc flip the script and ask for 300k sanctioning fee for cotto to take the canelo fight., cotto decided to drop the belt and keep the 1.1 mil. and go ahead and fight for canelo win or lose he wasnt keeping the belt. cotto was making about 10mil for the fight. canelo paid his fee and was to pick up belt if he won and he did. same with canelo wbc forced him to negotiate if not purse bid. GGG being offered 3-4 times his biggest payday and still refused. canelo drop the belt and made another payday in fighting Khan. everybody hates the way is doing business not what he does in the ring. canelo will continue to earn big payday with or without a trinket on the line.

Canelo was avoiding GGG, waiting for him to get old. He deserved to get stripped of the belt because he wasn't prepared to defend it. That said, it doesn't mean Sulaiman is good or correct. Sulaiman is one of the most corrupt and self serving people in boxing. He's vile and very bad for the sport. Canelo's a pu5sy for handing over the belt without a fight, but respect to him for tuning Sulaiman out of the mix. The sanctioning bodies are just business middle men try to cash in on fighters hard work. It's good to see Sulaiman punished for his greed.

And by the way canelo never paid ggg a dime, after the cotto fight he was given a voluntary defense by the wbc just like every other champion... the only one who paid it was cotto since he holded that belt for like 2 years or so..
