    Comments Thread For: HBO's Replay of Joshua-Klitschko Peaked at 890K Viewers

    How good was the Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko heavyweight title fight? So good that, according to Nielsen Media Research ratings released Tuesday, an average of 738,000 viewers watched HBO's same-day replay of Joshua-Klitschko. HBO's delayed telecast started at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday, five full hours after it ended with Joshua winning by 11th-round technical knockout in London.

      HBOLD IS AVAILABLE IN 27% MORE HOMES! THEY SHOULD BEAT SHOWTIME BY MORE THAN THIS..... GOOD FOR JOSHUA TO GET GOOD RATINGS ON BOTH CHANNELS..... PLUS 1.5 MILLION PPV'S IN LONDON.....

      HBO = 30 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS!
      SHOWTIME = 22 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS!

      FACTS MATTER

        Proof that despite delayed broadcasting, HBO still has a greater core audience than Showtime. Some of these guys weren't expecting to see these numbers come out!

            Not being able to advertise in advance seems to have undercut the numbers for both shows.

                  IMO had SHO and HBO been able to advertise in advance then the numbers would've been better. If we disgree that is ok.

                  Good news is abouy 1.5 mil watched the fight in the US. I'll take that as a positive.

                    Or Fury v. Klitschko turned a lot of people off to heavyweight boxing. That was a horrible fight. Worse than May-Pac. But May-Pac gets blamed whenever PPV numbers are low. So why not blame Fury-Klitschko for these numbers?
