This sucks. Pull a Holyfield why don't you. Better to pull a Vitali and fight 3 times a year.

What do people think he's "milking" if he "only" fights twice a year? It's not money, because that means he's only get paid twice a year.

He probably wants to limit the frequency for health reasons, but he says he wants to be around for the next 7-10 years so that would give him about 15-20 fights at high championship level which is pretty good.

I swear I think the threads about how often a fighter should fight are the dumbest on this forum (that aren't troll threads). Fighters need to look after their own health! Hard fights take more out of you than easy fights. Would you rather see someone take 3-4 easy fights or take 2 hard fights in a year?

Damn that sucks! That means probably only 15 to 20 more fights in his whole career. Is Joshua already on the back 9 of his career?

Standard these days for guys on big money, champion calibre. GGG, Canelo, it's all standard and it sucks for the fans. Back in the day it was stock standard to see a champion fighter 3 or 4 times a year. Joshua is making so much per fight why would he care haha.

I do not know what it will do to his skills. Plus he has to comply with mandatories which does not always mean good quality opposition.

It means there will less chance for others to challenge for those belts. Bad news for those has to work their way up because they don;t have the celebrity status to begin with.

                Joshua will avoid Luis Ortiz

Won't breath Ortiz name. If Joshua dreams of Luis Ortiz he'd wake up in a cold sweat.

As long as they are worthwhile fights - all good.

Low volume with quality beats the Wilder approach - smash cans daily.

Wilder hardly ever fights. I would give him more credit if he was smashing cans 4 or 5 times a year, but he only smashes 1 or 2 cans per year.
