With his fan base he should be able to fight three times a year. Just like Pacquiao did the year he beat de la Hoya.

it was a tough fight thats why. i dont have a problem with fighters taking time off after a gruelling fight. i have problems when someone beats up a bum, barely gets hit and then takes 6 months off.

Idk man. I think you risk saturating the market fighting him too much or anyone who's a big draw between the PPV prices + ticket prices. That's always been the model anyway, the higher profile you are the less you fight.

And the ODLH fight is what put Manny on a higher level. That's when he turned into a 2 fight a year guy himself.

I guess it wouldn't surprise me if Joshua has 3 fights next year doe with how his schedule will line up if he fights in October, but after that, assuming he keeps on his current trajectory, which is a big assumption obviously, I doubt he'll be fighting more than 2 bouts a year.

And hell from his POV why wouldn't you fight just twice a year when you are knocking down 8 digits per fight & he'll probably have a ton of out of the ring commitments that have lil to do with getting hit in the head putting money in his pockets.

I don't get it, which big star fights more than once or twice a year? This is not unusual by modern standards?

Ortiz, Fury, Parker, Wlad or Wilder next. I'd prefer Fury but I don't mind any of the others.

He doesn't need 6 months off. Fighting only twice a year seems to be what most champions do these days. They don't need that much time off. Champions used to defend their titles 3 or 4 times a year. It did them no harm and they stayed sharper by fighting more often.

Yeah but that was fighting cans. It's pretty much twice a year once a guy is near the top...

I really think it depends on the fight. If a guy scores a fast knockout without taking much punishment he may fit in another fight but for the most part at the top it's twice a year.

Boxingscene just released an article saying AJ will fight twice a year.

Not dis*****g that he needs time to heal. I thought you were suggesting that he took more of a beating than Klitschko.
