He probably received a concussion from that right hand in the 6th round.

Joshua's left eye was reportedly swollen from a head butt. That 2 inch gash over Wladimir's left eye came from a punch.

This thought scares me. There are so few mega fights to be made at HW - they are the exception rather than the rule.

To have a guy with only 19 pro fights going into mega fight mode...man...that's premature and a waste of his prime. I hope Hearn & Co know better (not confident they do).

There's actually only 5 months between now and October. Joshua needs time to heal. He also needs to study what he did wrong in that fight & get back into the gym to learn new techniques of defense. Although he got his second wind in the fight, he could also stand to work on his stamina. Taking 5 months to do these things isn't unreasonable at all.

Well, its not 6 months 'off'.

He's just had a long training camp and a very demanding fight.

He will enter training camp again in mid-to-late July, so he's really having 8-10 weeks off.

Regardless how he got it, it's there and it will take time to heal. It's not exactly like he had an easy fight - he pretty much went death and life in there.
