Comments Thread For: Great Expectations of Anthony Joshua

By Tris Dixon - SOME claim it was William Shakespeare who said "Expectation is the root of all heartache." Around 90,000 poured through the Wembley Stadium turnstiles on Saturday night clutching their priceless tickets in the immense hope that they were at one of those rare events, a huge fight that delivered on serious hype. Millions in the UK and around the world tuned in with those same great expectations...

Who can beat him? That's the question.

There's only two men on this planet who might and that's Wilder and Fury.

The rest haven't got a chance.

Fury is ruined. Even if he comes back, he will never be the same (which was not that much to begin with, in spite of what many people say). Wilder is a great athlete and a tremendous puncher; had he caught Joshua like Klitschko did in the sixth round, he would have finished him.

Anyone can be beaten at some point. Just remember this name: James "Buster" Douglas.

^^ I hope you're right mate because I can't stand Eddie Hearn and his big inflated head any longer.

This is definitely true, if Wilder were to catch Joshua. The problem with Wilder is he needs to work on tightening his punches more. Needs to work on his technical skills because he's flawed. If they were to fight today Joshua vs Wilder, I would put my money on Joshua because he would most likely be the one to get the first big shot in due to Joshua being better technically and having better disciplined skills. Wilder needs to shore up his deficiencies and flaws.

I agree, in fact I wrote that Wilder is a great athlete, not a great boxer. Indeed he has flaws. The only thing I would add is that, somehow, I feel that Wilder has a sturdier chin than Joshua. But I might be wrong on that. Then again, it's heavyweights... one punch can be enough for a "lights out".

                Everybody questioning Josh chin BUT...

If Josh were to catch Wilder with the punches he dropped Wlad with.
                How Wilder would take it?

It might become Foreman vs Lyle all over again...

Wilder would fold from those shots.

He's also significantly worse than both Wlad and AJ in terms of technique and general skill level.
