Gotta remember, Wlad is 41 years old - boxing is deeper than looking in shape and going for broke when you have your opponent hurt. You risk tiring out, and getting seriously hurt - reason why Mayweather stopped going for KO's - why Manny cannot sustain his attack and hasn't recorded a KO in awhile... GGG hasn't KO'd an opponent in a while either (Brook was a tko) after 33/34 years old it's hard to go through training camps and fight live opponents with that type of ferocity! Lad was fighting smart because if he over committed the younger Lion could catch him, and he knows his own stamina issues - Boxing is a grueling sport

Thought you were done after the fifth, too. If you let him off in the six, he must have let you off in the fifth. Good fight overall. Time to retire Dr. STeel Hammer. Let the young lads do their thing. This is what a buff pum pum like Panettiere does to you--all that drilling weakens you. Enjoy it while you still have some strength old man. Don't let boxing retire you.As previously reported, Wladimir Klitschko will take time to consider his future in boxing but revealed he will only fight again for a rematch with Anthony Joshua. The Ukrainian suffered the fifth defeat of his decorated career, and the second in succession, when he was dramatically stopped in the 11th round of a thrilling clash at Wembley Stadium by IBF, IBO and WBA heavyweight champion Joshua.

I thought Klitschko was done in the 5th round, then I thought Joshua was done in the 6th round.
In the 11th round after AJ dropped Klitschko the 3rd time, then at that point I knew Klitschko was done for sure.
I'm glad AJ closed the show. Great fight, an instant boxing classic!Last edited by The Time; 04-30-2017, 02:46 PM.Comment

It's not like he wasn't throwing at all, he was just making sure not to punch himself out at that point.Comment

Looking back at it now it's mind boggling to think that in round 6 and 7 AJ had no power, no energy and brains scrambled yet Klitschko couldn't finish him off.Comment

A guy with 69 fights to his name shouldn't have made that mistake. Maybe subconsciously he showed mercy to the younger guy he has so much respect for. Whatever it was, he won't get that chance to put Joshua away again. He'll get steamrolled in a rematch.
Wlad should have one last farewell fight against a decent contender in a stadium in Germany. After everything he's achieved, why would he want to stick around as #2?Comment

Overly cautious and playing it safe, even when he should be going in for the kill.
That's Wladimir's career in a nutshell.Comment

Klitschko should have gone Wilder on his ass. Like Wilder did to Audley Harrison. Let it all go!!Comment

Klitschko had great aggressiveness and timing as well as a good jab,, On the other hand he had zero body work the entire night, bad strategy of head hunting. Should of started early to the body of Joshua his chances of winning would have skyrocketed.. Overall he performed Great and I tip my hat to the man because that was one hell of an entertaining fightComment

Yup and that's were Wlad made a mistake. When you hurt Joshua you have to go for the kill. Joshua has to much power for you to let him back into a fight.
Like with the Dillian Whyte fight when he was hurt he took the next round or 2 off to recover and find a second wind.Comment
