Toney will make Wlad come to him. This won't be like the Byrd fight where Byrd was a 'knucklehead' moving forward all the time while doing nothing, but trying to slap Wlad's punches.

Toney's excellent defense + intelligence + good chin + great trainer, Wlad is in danger.

this fight is a mismatch. toney is too small and wont be able to get inside that jab. he'll take a beating in a very one sided fight

Toney always shows up in shape, ROUND. I have no idea why someone even gives toney a chance in this fight, even IF he shows up in "shape". He's simply too little to take the fight from Wlad. The only way you're gonna beat Wlad is if you can hit hard and toney ain't got a heavy punch at heavyweight.

The best toney could hope for is to train his ass off, literally, and defend against Wlad. That's it. It's not like he's going to box Wlad's head off, he couldn't even reach it with how straight Wlad stands up

This is the number 1 fight I want to see, but not cause it's a good match, only cause it'll blatantly show toney for what he is. A little fat man that talks a lot of **** that he can't back up

Toney in my opinion is harder to hit then Byrd, but the arm length will be a major factor for WK. Now I got alot of respect for Wlad's skill as a boxer, but in the HW division the rules change for me, & Boxing skills come in 2nd to the ability to take a shot. IMHO someone is gonna check his chin and it'll prove as always to be devistating.

I think the size differance will be too much for James to overcome.Wlad will jab&grab,and Toney's inside work will be limited.I would love to see this fight come off though!

i would be anxious to see this, becuz i see it like this Toney didnt respect Rahman and cam to the fight maybe not outta shape but fat and a blobbery mess and Toney felt he could beat him or hang with him in that shape! It will be tottally different for Wlad however, becuz Toney knows the guy is like a machine and will not underestiamte him by any standards, and will probley be in the best shape of his life, to beat WLAD by UD or late T/KO!

I just read on another boxing site that this may happen in September. I am a huge James toney fan. I believe he is far more skilled then wlad. With that being said, this is a bad bad match up for toney. wlad is big strong and has good skills of his own. In theory a good big man should beat an out of shape small man even if the smaller mans skills are greater.This victory does a lot for toney and nothing for wlad. Whats everyones opinion on this?

This is a complete and total mismatch, and a perfect tune-up for Wlad before he tries to unify. If Toney tries to lay on the ropes, Wlad can attack him at a distance where Toney can't retaliate. To be able to land against Wlad, Toney will have to take chances which will result in him taking enormous punishment from one of the hardest hitters in the HW division. Even if he does get inside, he doesn't have the power to hurt Wlad with one shot, nor the stamina to keep the pressure on wlad to wear him down. Wlad is all wrong for Toney, and this will be an absolute destruction.
