But the truth is, 90% of boxing is entertainment, not sweet science.

I'll tell my truth. I have not even watched the fight. I did watch the highlights and that is it. I just felt the entire buildup was phony and pushed way too hard. Wlad was old. He has been old for a while now. When Joshua fights the other title holders I will watch, but today was just a young guy beating an old guy thing.

Boxing is subjective. What I saw tonight was a prospect being tested and stepping up. He fought a much better Wlad than Fury did and answered questions regarding stamina and chin.

I mean this with respect Larry, but I think you have been conditioned from watching the "stick and move" style too much, which is only one aspect and comes across as blinkered.

Some fighters just want a battle and it is not a coincidence that these are the type of fights to land on FOTY lists year after year.

You're opinion is valid, but don't keep telling knowledgeable posters that theirs is isn't just because you're ignorant to it. Also, If all fighters used only the defensive method you wouldn't have any comparable styles to debate on the boards.

Larry yesterday was a GREAT fight and an amazing advert for the sport. And yes, it WAS a great fight - huge drama, shifts in momentum, tremendous punching power, fighters going to dark places and digging deep into reserves, shifts in momentum.

How was that NOT a great fight?

How about this - name me one great Mayweather fight and tell me why it was a greater fight than this.

I thought Wlad showed some very good skill in the fight at times actually. Joshua just had too much in the end but Wlad was excellent and showed how skilled he has been in his career, even if you don't like his style.

Anyway, if it's Wlad's last fight, at least he went out facing the supposed future of the division and give him a hell of a fight too. You have to respect that when the likes of Floyd CHOSE to have a PPV sparring match with a shot Berto.
