Briggs' handspeed, jab and power were as impressive as I've ever seen of him. He's been in the ring with the best in the world and he knows what it takes. He also does have some boxing ability. Briggs is the one that was calling out Samuel Peter and Peter did not respond. I say Briggs wins in a match against Peter.

Peter will eat very hard and fast jabs by Briggs as he tries to come in just like Klitschko was able to do. Briggs won't fold nearly as easily as Klitschko and he'll rock Peter sooner than Klitschko did in the 12th round. Of course Peter has the power to hurt Briggs. But it's certainly not a foregone conclusion that he'll land that power soon enough. I'd absolutely love to see this matchup.

Irregardless, people still wanted to see that fight happen. It's make or break for Briggs if he loses then he is history.

how many times does this need explaining. watch a fight before commenting on it!

A - look up the definition of rabbit punch.

B - read about a fighters strategy before assuming that you know what a fighter is doing. wk did not intend to KO peter, yet it seemed like he very well could have.
          ------------

i would very much enjoy a peter/briggs match up. however, i'm not so sure it would be made without a little help from one of the organizations. briggs may have called out peter, but both seem very content right now fighting c class(at best) opponents. looking at peter's rankings, he is ranked #3 in the wbc. how the hell did this happen. i would love to know how you fight guys like julius long and robert hawkins and get ranked as high as #3(or #4 as in the ibf). now, briggs is ranked only in the top five in one org - the wbo. again, not sure how he could be ranked a top five based on his destruction of the incomparable ****y ryan or the seasoned veteran that is chris koval. but, that's only one division so i won't complain too much.

a fight between these guys and an eventual showdown with a number one in the near future wouldn't be all that bad. i would just hate it if one of these guys gets to be a mandatory based on fighting guys who aren't even going to be competitive.

briggs is a joke... and peter would murder him.... briggs couldnt beat mccline for cyring out loud!! even if peter does have the skills of an amatuer, he's a bad matchup for briggs... briggs isnt a boxer, he isnt going to jab, stick and move... he's a slugger, peter's a slugger, KO for peter... its funny how easy some people get swindled by a guy that has 11 straight KO's against nothing but bums....

briggs doesnt have a chin while peter does. that will probaby be the difference with peter stopping him at some point

id predict peter by ko, but could see briggs rocking peter a few times.
briggs has good power but not crippling power,,,he's yet to be able to stop class A or B opponents

are you forgetting what happens to briggs when he steps up to class b and above guys? he was knocked out by little darrol wilson beaten by sedrick fields,,,beaten soundly by jameel mcline and drew with botha. peter would stop briggs if they fought. no doubt in my mind

Yup, Pete V. Briggs boils down to Peter has a chin, Briggs doesn't. I'm still not sold on Peter as being the heir-apparent..but he destroys Briggs.

I agree. briggs does look like the next big thing every time he fights a class c or below guy,,,then as soon as he steps up he's soundly beaten. I jumped on his bandwagon years ago and will never get suckered in again as its always the same story with him. peter has too good a chin and enough power to stop briggs without much of a problem
