Heavyweight contender Shannon Briggs (47-4-1, 41 KOs) scored his eleventh consecutive knockout in round three against the very tough Chris Koval (23-3, 18 KOs) Wednesday night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Briggs was very sharp, landing sledgehammer jabs and punishing rights that the rugged Koval shook off early on. In round three, however, Briggs brutally blasted Koval to the deck, then floored him again with a colossal right. Koval barely beat the count, but his corner stopped the slaughter after the third.

....Looks like he's trying to get a title shot without fighting anyone of note. He may pull it off somehow too. Hell, if Golota could do it several times then why not Briggs.Comment

unless they both have solid chins, but run out of stamina and start hugging each other. Which, in retrospect, is quite imaginable.Comment
