Floyd did win but it's an interesting point about what would have happened if Maidana had been allowed his usual gloves. We know Floyd liked his A-side advantages (as most fighters do) and it's easy to see why he wasn't too keen on letting Maidana wear his usual gloves.

I think Floyd is the best of his time but i don't know how anyone can really defend a move like that. Fighters should be allowed to use whatever gloves they choose as long as they're approved by the governing bodies and whatnot.

The commission did rule the custom gloves Maidana tried to use were unacceptable. Maidana tried to cheat, some peoples hatred for Mayweather outweighs that though.

I always thought Maidana shouldn't have accepted the fight with the "pillow" gloves. He could've called Floyd's bluff, or just make him look like an ass by cancelling a fight due to gloves.
