He also trained Ricardo Finito Lopez after his initial trainer died and even rejuvenated Jhonny Gonzalez allowing him to capture a few titles at Featherweight including a 1st round KO over another of his former fighters Abner Mares.

De La Hoya, Chavez Jr, Angulo and a few others were only with Nacho for a fight or two and you cant always blame the trainer for not helping them sometimes the fighters need to know their limitations. Oscar should have never fougth Pacquiao at least not at that weight, and Julio doesn't look good but what do you expect when he hasn't come in this low since 2012. I wouldn't be surprised if this plays out exactly like Ward vs Dawson.

I've been a die hard boxing fan since 1999. If you see in depth posts of mine on different discussions you will know that I'm not some casual fan.

It's better to say did you not know Beristain trained so and such fighter. While I do appreciate the information you are providing because I definitely am always willing to learn. I'm sure there are many die hard fans who may not know this as well. I'm sure I probably know some things about certain fighters or trainers that you may not that I can share with you. But because you don't know doesn't mean you're a casual.

But in any event I appreciate that information. Those are some good fighters he's trained. And Nacho is a great trainer. I think he might retire pretty soon for obvious reasons that come with age. Those methods with Oscar and now Chavez do seem odd though regarding their weight. It doesn't look good for Chavez Jr going into this fight with Canelo. I hope his health doesn't suffer too much.

Jr is obviously struggling with this weight thing and people can seriously be hurt when they dehydrate themselves so much.

Obviously nobody in boxing gives a **** though. Not the commission and not the sanctioning body. As long as they're getting money then who the **** cares, right? But then they wanna act like they care about fighters...

If the Chavez Jr. that fought Andy Lee shows up Canelo is in for a tough fight. If the Chavez Jr. that fought Vera shows up well....... Anyway I think Chavez Jr. is serious this time and hopefully it will be a competitive fight.

Only people to blame here is Jr. and his father, they have been asking for this fight for years. Jr. is gonna need help to step into the ring.

3.01 lbs left to lose in 10 days left.
I agree, and this is how I see it as well. The numbers you mentioned actually look good for Chavez. And pictures in bad lighting can affect how a person looks. And also, he was just working out and exhausted and if he had less sleep the night before, like anyone, it shows in a persons eyes. And he will hydrate well after the weigh in. I bet if someone sees a closeup in better lighting when he is rested, they will see he is okay.

Maybe jr is just one of those people that usually look bad in photos. Even when he's not training, the guy usually looks kinda weird in pictures.
I'm not saying he looks healthy in the picture but bad lighting can make you look worse than you look, plus he just finished working out apparently.
