I think Larry Merchant is the worst. He comes off like a smug ****** who gets off on listening to himself talk. I get the criticism of Max Kellerman as well but I have a soft spot for him. I used to watch him when he had a public access show when I lived in Manhattan. Just him in front of a blue screen talking boxing if I remember correctly.

I remember when Lemeiux KO'd Ayala in the first round years ago on FNF, Teddy was extremely critical of him and said he would get exposed when he stepped up. Everyone on NSB was calling Teddy biased, ******, a hater, etc.

Surpise surprise, he was fucking right, which he usually is. Teddy is the best commentator in boxing.

How can you not love him going on a fucking rampage when a fighter gets robbed? It always does my heart good.

Nonsense. 1 of the best at announcing Boxing. Always enjoyed the commentary from him and Bob Papa, then him and Joe Tessitore, on FNF's. Its Max I didnt enjoy too much, with his $9 college words that he uses when he interviews Boxers, for whom clearly, English isn't their 1st language. Teddy, however, Knows his Boxing.

Atlas cleaned Cus' gym in upstate NY and carried Tyson's spit bucket when He was a 15 year old amateur. He has parlayed a lackey subordinate association with Tyson and Cus into a whole career of overstated credentials. His histrionic shouting, constant talk of ring " real estate", and fixation on fighters' personal problems/prior jail stints have done prison is nauseating. An outside con man who has conned his way inside.

My answer to your question is YES. To me he is by far the worst possible commentator. To those of you who like him, enjoy him because he will be calling fights for ESPN for many more years.

I've always found it weird how people accuse Lampley of being biased just because he gets so emotional during fights, but Atlas gets away with straight up ****ting on a fighter ringside, lobbing around unfounded accusations, etc.

His face scar and stereotypical boxing guy accent have gotta be like a magnet to the casual viewer though. I remember the first time I saw him I was like wow is this the guy every video game boxing trainer was based off of? But his commentary sucks to hell.

Yea^ Bernard has a hard time with the commentary flow. He's a smart guy but his analogies get mixed up, his timing is off, and he lacks presence on the mic. It's like he's trying to do the Lampley/Kellerman partially scripted stuff and failing at it. It's rare that a guy can flow with the blow-by-blow stuff convincingly like Atlas and Steward. They may not sound like polished commentators but they didn't need to when they can tell you what's going on in the fighter's head, why he's failing, what he needs to do, etc.

What exactly are u referring to though? I heard B Hop Many Times, seems fine.
