Ward doesn't get hit anywhere near as much as Golovkin does, and Ward's punch is still heavy enough to keep a big light heavyweight like Kovalev off of him.
    Great post.

Ward has the better chin period. Guys with 50% KO ratios like Fonfara would have 100% KO ratios at 160.
Ward only fought two LHWs and got dropped once. He was getting hurt by jabs.

Yeah but also Ward was dropped twice, while Golovkin ate all Jacobs shots like nothing.

Yeah we've all seen How GGG's chin holds up from 168 and above haven't we. lol

Darnell Boone dropped Andre Ward in his 7th pro fight (going from his Olympics weight of 172/173lbs down to 160lbs likely affected things a bit), Ward won the fight anyway, and then went on to spend the next 11 years without being anywhere even seriously rocked until the Kovalev fight, and even that was shaken off in another 1/2 rounds.

Golovkin's fought at 160lbs, basically, since he was 21 years old; Jacobs is a sturdy puncher, but if Golovkin can't handle middleweight power after 15 years of fighting a middleweight, he may as well walk away now.
