Why do white Americans support eastern euro fighters more than their countrymen

But let's be real...soccer is the same way, they support their countrymen... Most people support their countrymen in sports regardless of race ..

I suppose I'm the exception then. Haha. I live in Tennessee and am anything but a Vols or Grizzlies fan. I'd have to be a fan of the team members to be a fan of the team.

It's very popular amongst casual who quickly identify with fighters from their homeland, but people who watch boxing religiously shouldn't be expected to support a fighter simply on the region they come from.

For the most part people here choose to follow fighters with a similar styles and mentality.

This is highly true from what I've seen. A true fan watches the sport much more closely than just going with the local boy. Great post.

Im not white (Im Asian-American) but skin color plays NO part in who I root for EVER. Im an American so I root for American Fighters to kick the asses of non-Americans. If there are 2 non-Americans Fighting each other, than I will root for the underdog usually. But bottom line. I NEVER root against an American Fighter whether It be Pros, Olympics, Whatever.
Oh 1 caveat, obviously, if 2 Americans are Fighting each other, than obviously, by default, I have to root against an American, LOL, but that is the only exception.
But I never factor in skin color obviously. To do so would be utterly ridiculous.

I'm white, it say the only eastern euro fighter I like is lomachenko, I think he has the skills to dfo a lot, time will tell, but I like that he seems to want the big challenges. Bradley is another favorite of mine...he's not scared of anyone. I like several others, but just saying.

The USA has great fighters from all races and backgrounds, yet white americans barely support their own race her or countrymen of different ethnic groups

Every other country seems to support their countrymen regardless of race, yet the US European(native born) Americans seem to have a love affair with Russians, Germans, Kazakhstan, etc

Why?

How do you know this is true? Do you know the race of all posters? Or if someone supports a fighter from the Eastern Hemisphere do you just assume they're white?
