Hell, they support eastern euro guys more than they backed Kelly pavlik in the past....Joe smith today

The USA has great fighters from all races and backgrounds, yet white americans barely support their own race her or countrymen of different ethnic groups

Every other country seems to support their countrymen regardless of race, yet the US European(native born) Americans seem to have a love affair with Russians, Germans, Kazakhstan, etc

People might support fighters based on the style they fight not the way they look.

It's entertainment, no one is obligated to support a fighter based on where they're born.

I think many white Americans support both. Most fans become fans of fighters because of styles. I like Lomachenko because of his style the same as I like Crawford because of his style and Mikey because of his style. It's about styles- not nationalism or race. I mean, shouldn't you stick to team sports with the nationalistic thinking? Beyond that, I think many fans of even team sports support certain teams because they like one or two particular players on that team.

But let's be real...soccer is the same way, they support their countrymen... Most people support their countrymen in sports regardless of race ..

I agree. Why is this assumption so popular?

It's very popular amongst casual who quickly identify with fighters from their homeland, but people who watch boxing religiously shouldn't be expected to support a fighter simply on the region they come from.

For the most part people here choose to follow fighters with a similar styles and mentality.
