I don't believe Ottke really wanted to fight Joe.

Joe would have gone to Germany. He went for Veit.

Andre didn't clinch and headbutt Kovalev all night.

He and Sven aren't one of the same.

He's still only 33, with just over 30 fights on his resume.

How has he only got 1-2 fights left in him?

and jack didnt win any of those fights by holding or headbuting like ward did against kessler and bika. he beat the #1 guy(degale), #3 guy(groves), #6 guy(dirrell), a former #1 guy(bute) that ward had ducked and medina who easily could be in top 10 since a lot of people had him beating degale. ward beat the #1 guy(controvesially), #3 guy(froch), #5 guy(bika), #7 guy(green) and the #10 guy twice(abraham, rodriguez)

i dont see a big difference and i would say jack beat a wider and more difficult range of styles. the guys ward fought aside from weird bika are straight up and down, no special effects. dirrell, bute, groves, and degale would never be described that way.

if everyone is agaisnt ward and holding him back like he delusionaly claims...my god badou jack might go on a killing spree soon
I don't see how Jack's got a comparable resume at SMW.

Andre beat Kessler and Froch, and he had a fractured hand against Froch.

Jack had a close fight with Bute, who's never been the same since Carl hammered him.

Apart from Bika, his opponents were straight up and down? Dawson and Kovalev weren't, although I admit that Dawson was drained.

You say that Dirrell, DeGale, Bute and Groves could never be described that way? What's special about Groves and Anthony Dirrell? Both of those guys are no better than Kessler or Froch. Neither of them have what you refer to as special effects. Again, Bute has ability, but he's never been the same since he fought Froch.

The way ward beat froch and kessler was utterly pathetic. The headbutts and holding, he headbutted kessler as a means to do damage, it was a sad sight for the sport. Most refs would have dq'd ward.

With that being said, wards best wins are controversial, I would have sven ahead slightly, nothing controversial about his resume.
It wasn't a shameful robbery at all. Kovalev looked completely devoid of ideas in the last part of the fight.

How was the victory over Froch pathetic? He won relatively easy despite having a fractured hand.

Sven's resume can never be held in higher regard. Some of his wins were awful. Did you see the Brewer and Reid fights? They were shocking. The referee was corrupt.

If you were to pick whose career looks better out of Ward Vs. Ottke, you'd obviously pick Ward, but If we're talking about Joe Calzaghe Vs. Andre Ward, whether you like it or not, simply put, Calzaghe career has been far more impressive.

You may argue the Robin Reid fight, but that fight was a genuine tear up, a very good fight which I don't think you could say was anywhere near the level of controversy that Kovalev Vs. Ward has.
We haven't seen Joe Calzaghe comprehensively beat, we have however seen Ward beat, but this is my opinion, I further back that with diehard Ward fans even admitting to him losing against Kovalev.

He has announced his uncertainty about fighting after the rematch. My guess is one or two fights and he will retire.

Ward, Ward and more Ward. Ward's record is better and he's also the superior fighter. A match-up between Ottke vs Ward and Ward would beat Ottke comfortably. Froch and Kessler would beat him too.

Joe's career was not more impressive at all.

He was a great fighter, but he wasn't overly ambitious.

He spent 14 years in a relatively weak division, making 21 defences of a lightly regarded WBO belt. And you have to note that he had a walking around weight of 14 stone, and he had to literally starve himself to make the SMW limit.

He could have moved up to LHW whenever he'd have wanted. But he wasn't interested, despite the fact that it was a stronger division with more recognisable names, and in the late 90's-early 00's, he knew he couldn't unify with Ottke.

He had no intentions of fighting the best fighters out there such as Roy Jones. He was content fighting guys like Salem, Veit, Mkrtchyan and Ashira etc in his 30's. Also, he wouldn't travel to the U.S. which meant that he was a relative nobody until he beat Lacy in 2006.

His best wins were against: Eubank, Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell, Veit, Reid, Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins. The fight against Roy meant nothing, as he wrote in his own autobiography that Roy had been a shot fighter since 2004.

I watched his career in it's entirety, and I can tell you straight that he would never have fought a guy like Kovalev at LHW.

The resumes are comparable, and Andre has taken more risks. Also, you can't say that Joe never lost but Andre has. You've got to be fair and look at the official results only. Otherwise you're not being objective. Because many people think Reid deserved at least a draw, and many people think he lost to Bernard. In my opinion, it was quality vs quantity against Bernard. I had the fight a draw.
