Maybe he's counting on knocking Ward out in the first half of the fight.....
ward never attempted to slip outside and counter over/after the jab after he was dropped with the counter from kov
dude is too smart but Kov is too...he knows he is going to have to spark ward the hell out to win...ward isnt just gonna roll over and quit.

His God is saved this karma for him for fighting his former promoter who gave him a shot at the big time at the super six and still took him to court on his deathbed, the man has no integrity!
Speaking of no integrity....that trashy racist Kovalev stole a cell phone on 2012

As I said, I think it's a positive and he'll be likely to peak more timely. Really though, the whole "I was training wrong all these years and now in really going to be in shape" (in my 30's) is a tired refrain in combat sports. I can't count the number of times I've heard this and it failed to produce anything. James DeGale being the most recent.
It can be one of a few things - either his new training really did mess with his stamina, he started drinking/smoking more(Per hunter's recent comments) or both Ward and Chilemba's style did a significant job at sapping his energy. Kov never had too much stamina problems before. While he rarely went 12 rounds, he has gone past 6th 7th many times and was absolutely fine.
We'll see in June.
