I've always said that Ward fights like a bigger, slower, clumsier Floyd Mayweather. If you dislike Floyd's style you'll really hate Ward's.

Ward is solid though and has a pretty high fight IQ but there is nothing exceptional about him from an athletic standpoint.

As a person, I think he's one of the most stand up guys in boxing.

I don't see much in common between their styles at all.

It is ugly but it works.

He has some legitimately good skills as well including a really nice jab, good head and foot movement and good punch selection. When he does stand up boxing, he is smooth and decent to watch.

That ****ing bull rush with the grope and hit **** he does on the inside though is his bread and butter.

You're not watching closely enough. Ward has admitted to emulating Floyd style and Floyd has admitted that he sees a lot of himself (his old self) in Ward.

Heh, I watch very closely, and I see absolutely nothing in common.

A lot of fighters say shyt like that, doesn't mean it's true.

his style is effective yet extremely boring and ugly.

I have no interest in any fights that involve andre ward.

The left jab to the body which not many fighters throw, the hitting then immediately clinching, the leaping left hook, are all things they have in common.

So even though they both agree that Ward copies Floyd you're saying it's still not true?? LMFAO

I personally dont like wards style but for him it seems to be effective. The worst thing is that he is a dirty gritty win at all costs fighter who is proclaimed by most to have the most sublime skillset since floyd mayweather. If he just acknowledged his style rather than try to have us believe he is some kind of solid technician...he might get some kudos. But acting like his wins come from some god given talent that is up and above every other fighter out there is just annoying and makes him come across as pretentious.

Not really, but whatever works for him. Luckily, there are other boxers that you can watch and enjoy, because if everyone boxed like Ward boxing would be dead.

Ward's style is pure garbage from an entertainment aspect(yes this is coming from a Mayweather fan)it works for him so he's not gonna change it. He reminds me of a poor mans Hopkins and in no way does he remind me of Floyd at all. He mauls, grabs, and fouls just like Hopkins.
