Good interview. I think the Rock was giving an honest assessment of how he viewed Clay at the time. I think he's right in that Clay's flamboyance was good for the sport and I also agree that he overdid it. However, that's a personal preference. The Rock's just talking real. And up to that point, no one knew how great Clay would end up being.

I really think there's a lot of merit for this forum to be called "Race and Boxing". Or some variation of it, Non Stop Race Talking, to warn potentially serious members away that this is more about race in boxing than actually discussing about boxing, being reasonable in your arguments and keeping it 100% boxing related, boxing business, boxing interviews. Race is heavily involved in this forum and lounge and there really doesn't seem to be much moderation. Some of the stuff that is said, or implied here is easily a permanent ban in any other forum. NSB has become Iraq/Afghanistan post 9/11. Lack of moderation has emboldened many posters to become worse and more direct. I know it's for ad money but when do you draw a line?

A lot of advertisers in general are becoming a lot more strict regarding where they advertise because they don't want their products associated with hate. I have seen some YouTube videos about ads on YouTube being limited in recent weeks as YouTube tries to eliminate the monetization of hate videos. So basically YouTube doesn't want anti-gay, anti-******, etc. hate videos to get ad revenue because those advertisers are threatening to pull out if they see their ads on videos like that.

Maybe this forum would experience an influx of ad revenue if advertisers felt more comfortable advertising here. I remember years ago they banned **** in the lounge for this reason. And then they started censoring certain cuss words. Race will always play a role in boxing, but there's guys on here that are able to have a discussion and others that are just angry at something so they post just incoherent nonsense.
