The best amateur boxer were teofilo Stevenson , and Felix Savon , both with 3 golds .
Rigondeaux has two as Loma does .
Rigo and Gamboa both beat Loma , I bet rigo schools him at 122 and 126 and Gamboa also beats Loma at 130 .
Loma is pretty good but he was beaten already by salido and there are guys out there that Loma will lose again if he fought them ...
Hit and not be hit ; can not hit what you don't see .
Laszlo Papp was the first man to ever win 3 Olympic gold medals. Stevenson became the second man and Savon became the third and thus far the last. Savon is by far the most decorated amateur boxer of all time having won 3 Olympic gold medals, 6 World Championships and a silver medal there as well, all at Heavyweight. But most decorated doesn't necessarily mean you were the best, it means you stuck around long enough to win that many medals. Stevenson was the more skilled amateur between the two but even he lost a lot more than Lomachenko did and never avenged all of his losses. Igor Vysostsky had his number and beat him twice. In their last encounter he stopped Stevenson. Papp and Savon never won a Val Barker trophy for being voted the best boxer at the Olympics. Papp competed before the World Championships existed so he never was able to win a World Championship, which isn't his fault.
Lomachenko won 2 Olympic gold medals (double Olympic champion) in two different weight classes. He won it as a Featherweight and then had to move up and did it again as a Lightweight. He also won 2 World Championships (double World Champion) as a Featherweight and also as a Lightweight. In 2008, he won the Val Barker trophy for being voted the best boxer at the Olympics. He only lost to one man and avenged that loss twice, once at the 2008 Olympics in the very first round (to the reigning World Champion, Albert Selimov, who beat him the previous year) and the second time in the World Series of Boxing. Stevenson never won Olympic gold in multiple weight classes and neither did Savon, or Kindelan or Rigondeaux for that matter. Papp however did, but he moved down not up. He won Olympic gold as a Middleweight and then as a Light Middleweight (twice). Stevenson won all of his World Championships except one at Heavyweight and all of his Olympic gold medals at Heavyweight, as did Savon. You can't blame Stevenson for this because it wasn't until 1984 that the Super Heavyweight division was created. However, you can blame Savon for not moving up to try and win gold at Super Heavyweight.
Lomachenko is the only amateur boxer in history to win Olympic gold twice (in two divisions), the World Championships twice (in two divisions) and win a Val Barker trophy (best at the Olympic Games). He also only lost once to a single man, which he avenged. The Val Barker trophy didn't come along until 1936 so those preceding it weren't able to win the award. Still, the Olympics didn't have full international member country participation until later on so that really isn't an issue. Lomachenko was also a Junior European and a Junior World Champion (highest achievement at the time) before he boxed as a senior. Nowadays, the highest Junior/Youth achievement is winning gold at the Youth Olympic Games which weren't around when Lomachenko was competing as a youth.
See the difference between your post and my post?
I include a link saying exactly what I am talking about.
You include a link completely irrelevant in addressing what I talked about.
Who cares who Siri is fighting next or how much that is paying.
There is an amount he wants to fight Loma.
Top Rank WILL NOT PAY IT.
That is why we do not have a rematch.
Period.
You can spin that any way you like except we know that TR is notorious for doing things like lowballing rematch offers to fighters who manage to beat their marquee names fair and square.
They lowball their own fighters if they refuse to sign extensions.
But, you go ahead and feel free to think whatever you like.
It won't change the fact that TR can make the fight anytime they like if they become willing to pay Siri what he wants.
Here's an article that explains the whole deal.
http://www.******.com/462401-lomache...ks-get-uglier/
They were trying to lowball him with an offer of $500,000. This, when they offered Martinez $525,000.
They will pay over half a million for a belt but they want to pay LESS to the guy that has a W over them?
Me, I'm for a guy who earned the right to a big payday ACTUALLY GETTING THAT PAYDAY.
What are you for?Last edited by Pugilisticuffs; 04-16-2017, 12:52 AM.Comment

I backed that post up with a complete case for Loma being ranked P4P #1. All you did was talk out of your ass. Then you try to straw man me when I never said any of that crap or even suggested it. If you can't grasp that any current Top 5 P4P ranked fighter has an argument for the top spot then you're not the sharpest tool in the shed. I said that all of those guys have an argument, not just Loma.
Not even remotely accurate.

Salido turned down two offers since Loma moved up to Super Featherweight. You realize this, right? The last offer was what his team asked for and even Salido's manager Sean Gibbons said he thought they had a deal. Salido said no to Arum. He's fighting a Thai scrub next and will be making peanuts in comparison. He doesn't want to give a rematch to Lomachenko. Salido wasn't low balled last time. His manager would've talked about it if they were. Salido priced himself out. It is what it is.
That belt looks like the one Lomachenko tried and FAILED to win...Comment

But, it really doesn't need an excuse, since we know Salido is worth more than what was offered.
There is such a thing as a promoter asking for one thing and getting it, and then the fighter rejecting that because the fighter knows he is worth more.
Again, the reason why the fight isn't happening right NOW is because TR won't pay Salido what any fair assessment says he is worth.
BTW, I included links on the numbers and statement I put forth. I gave numbers and quotes.
Where are yours?
Or are you just talking out of your arse on most of it?Comment
