    and the offer to fight at 160 was NOT dependant on the Chavez fight when Golovkin REFUSED an 8-figure sum to fight Canelo

    that is utter bullshht !!

    why would you lie about that ?

    Promoters for Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez have resumed discussions about boxing's ultimate showdown, though nothing can be finalized until Alvarez's May 6 bout with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

        our subject is still the ducking of Ward by Golovkin

        surely you can spend 36 minutes discussing this, right ?
        The issue is that you can't keep your lies about GGG straight. You can't win the argument on Ward so now you've gone off the deep end and started bull****ting about Canelo.

          That video clip was taken the same night he said "Mexican's don't **** around" and before he dumped the belt to fight at 155. And you know that. So stop pretending otherwise.

            there is no point in arguing over Canelo, because Canelo is not the common denominator

            who COULD have fought the following fighters, but CHOSE not to.....?

            * Ward
            * Lara
            * Mora
            * Cotto
            * Canelo
            * Saunders

            and his resume is.....

            * Pepe Le Pew
            * Danny Jacobs*

            Canelo can make big fights, he is not the common denominator, nor the problem

                no, the issue is..... your pacifist girlfriend cannot make a fight with ANYONE

                but hey, switch back to Canelo if you are unhappy discussing Ward

                    Neither Canelo nor Golovkin is a "superstar" if the term is to mean anything.
                    Canelo has a management team that has carefully matched him with big-name opponents who were either shopworn or too small (e.g. Mosley, Cotto, Khan). And then he happily took an ass-whipping from Floyd for a payday at an unhealthy catch weight. And now he's doing the same for Chavez and they're doing a decent job of convincing morons on here that Chavez actually has a chance at such a ridiculously unhealthy weight.

                    Put all of those on a date that Mexican fight fans (and those Americans who choose to be Mexican for two weekends a year), wear a sombrero, play mariachi music as your walkout song, and you have the facade of a "superstar".
                    Put Canelo in against Jacobs, Geale, Wade, etc...on a non-Mexican holiday, and all the promotion in the world wouldn't justify making it a PPV.

                    Same with Floyd tbh. He made his superstar money later in his career by taking advantage of gullible latinos wanting to see him lose against the Guerreros of the world on a Latino holiday weekend.
                    Look at his final fight against Berto. No one gave a ****. Maybe it got 250K buys. From a "superstar"?. Please, it just showed that Floyd was a great boxer with very little fanfare among casuals without being coupled with a big-name on a Mexican holiday.

                    GGG is the same. He can't draw flies to **** without a big-name opponent. And Canelo won't fight him unless they fight at a catchweight. WTF?! Everyone here who isn't dreaming of Canelo's **** knows full-well that Canelo is a natural middleweight, as is GGG.
                    Canelo/GGG should be 50/50 split for the middleweight crown, and no matter how it goes down, a rematch would most certainly be lucrative.

                    But no. Canelo cucks have to make excuses saying their guy is a megastar (which any rational person knows is far from the truth). He could become one by knocking out GGG at middleweight with millions watching on PPV, but Oscar isn't ******.

                    GGG cucks will similarly argue that he is a big draw, and blah, blah.
                    Neither is a superstar without the addition of smoke & mirrors.

                      Oh dear, next you'll be claiming that he ducked Mundine as well

                      Remember Mundine?
