You are missing the bigger picture here. Loma is not some American sensation who was highly visible in the mainstream media prior to his pro debut. We're talking about a guy who doesn't speak English, is a relative unknown in the U.S. among casuals, and he still got close to a million viewers while fighting an unknown opponent on a paid cable network. These numbers surpass Broner/Granados, Frampton/Santa Cruz, Crawford/Molina, and many other fights where two known fighters are competing.

He was visible. Between the Olympics and the WSOB he got exposure. Now did he get ODH level exposure, of course not.

His pro debut was on one of the bigger cards of the year. That is a very strong starting point that few fighters get.

I said the numbers were good IMO so we agree. I'm just pointing out when you say 9th fight you should point out that almost all other pros are not as developed, experienced or old in their 9th fight.

I am not suggesting he got the equivalent of Super Bowl coverage. I am simply pointing out he got much more exposure than most newly turned pros do.

His exposure was not the same as an American fighter. A Ukraine who speaks no English will have a more difficult time attracting an American or universal fan base. But with a few more fights he will transcend that obstacle the same way other non-English greats have such as Duran, Morales, Canelo, etc.

Bradley/Marquez only pulled in about 375K PPVs, it's not like it was a huge PPV event, and no one was paying attention to the undercards.

Getting close to one million views on a paid network is damn good for less than ten fights, regardless of your amateur pedigree. This isn't being aired on free television like some of the PBC cards. If he fights Salido next, I'm certain he breaks the million viewer mark with ease.

Streaming reduces the viewership ratings. They need to bring boxing back to free TV, there is no other option.

Thats not true at all. His exposure wasn't the same as a big name US fighter. But it was far more than roughly 95% of US fighters that just turned pro.

How many fighters do you think had 375,000 people watch their 1st fight, especially in the last 20 years? How many fighters got their pro debut on the 3rd spot on a major card?

Again, given his exposure, he certainly should be getting this number of viewers, especially with TR behind him. I agree with you about Salido. In my 1st post I hoped HBO/TR will make that fight instead of Flanagan.
