I don't even think those are great numbers. My point is lomachenko is not a star and these are not great numbers by HBO standards. A boxing after dark fight with fellow featherweights did better then this last year.
UFC has a different fanbase if this were a boxing PPV then I could buy it effecting the ratings but this wasn't. Boxing fans watched this and and UFC fans bought that PPV and if some were boxing fans they DVR'd the fight. But I don't think many if any of those UFC fans even know who Lomachenko is.

All my ufc friends watch boxing, but most of them prioritize UFC first. The fan base overlaps
Horrible numbers. If im not mistaken weren't everyone on Boxingscene judging PBC and Showtime viewers based on the number of subscriber's they had???? Lmao I guess that changes when hbo and European fighters are involved lol
Pretty sad that it's been a year since HBO or Showtime had a fight that averaged at least 1M (Golovkin-Wade, Apr. 2016). Pure trash. Especially when you consider that 1M viewers is crap as it is. But to not even be able to reach that number?
