No, he is not. He already has a better resume than Roy Jones does and Floyd isn't even 30. He is better than Roy and he can take a punch. Poor comparison.
What I mean is that he is like Jones in the sense that ppl have him as the p4p #1 guy not for having great fight, but just cuz of his skills.
The last elite fighter that he fought was Castillo at 135...
Floyd Mayweather Jr. will retire as one of the THREE greatest boxers to ever do it, I'm telling you. If he beats De La Hoya, Margarito, Hatton, and the middleweight champion of the world, before retiring UNDEFEATED, I think you can make the case he is the greatest fighter of all time.
With that said, he is in a tough spot with the Baldomir/Judah/Margarito/De La Hoya deal and here's why. While we all know Judah is better than Baldomir, Floyd should have fought the real champ at 147 and not Judah, despite the money and the personal feud (which was total bull**** it turns out). Now Gatti is in a position to become the recognized 147 champion and FLOYD ALREADY BEAT HIM AT 140. Floyd can say he's the better fighter, but if Gatti beats Baldomir, Mayweather cannot say he is the 147 champ over Gatti. As far as Margarito and De La Hoya goes, we all know Oscar is light years better than Margarito and brings a ridiculous amount of money to the table for Floyd so nobody better say any **** about Mayweather not fighting Margarito before Oscar.
I dont know about that one. Im sure some haters like Brian Kenny will say it but I dont think there is anyway that people will consider Gatti the real champ over Floyd after what they saw Floyd do to him. What they will do, because they hate Floyd so much is that they will say that Margarito is the real Champ over both of them.
If Baldy wins then you could argue he is more of a real champ but I still dont see most people with eye's buying that one either

whats good borikua, I havent seen you in awhile. Evidently you didnt read my thread but I cant blame you because of the length but my thread was about, name me one elite fighter he couldve faced but didnt? He wanted those other fights but still couldnt get them. He still has some very solid wins.
Also, he is in a much better position then he has ever been in and guys like Hatton & Cotto are getting older, so my point is that if Floyd gets the Oscar fight, then I think we will only see elite fights for him from here on out. Do you agree with that?
Also, I cant wait to see my boy Paulie take on Cotto. It should be fun

Hatton and Cotto gettin older? Ain't Floyd like 29-30 years old? Cotto is just 25 (don't know bout Ricky).
About Floyd fightin elite guys after Oscar I don't agree, I hope he does. I don't want him to be the next Roy Jones and waste his incredible talent.

when I said there getting older, I meant that they are getting old enough where they will fight him. 1st they were too young & green but soon they will be ready for big fights. Hatton is nearly there now and Im sure Cotto will have a big fight if he beats Paulie. Thats what I meant by getting older
You make some very interesting points... however you are as blinded as the next person is about there fav boxer.
Mayweather uses names as much as any other boxer out there. I believe he is P4P the best in the business at the moment. I think he will be considered one of the best ever in time, however I going to pull you up on one or two points:
DLH would beat Floyd - to assume any diffrent is ******
hatton has turned down floyd all of 2005 and 2006, its been said by his father and handlers that they dont want no parts of Floyd til 2007. Even Hatton said he needs to build his name up in the US to make the fight better, which I feel, but at the same time I think he knows he cant win. Thats the reason why he wants to fight Castillo, to see how he does and to give himself some needed swagger.
