Boxing education? Lol. Best I can give Ward was a draw and that was being generous. I had Kov winning 7-5

Lol shows how much Ward wants to fight Kovalev. If Kovalev beats him again, he doesn't even wanna fight him again to try and avenge his two losses.

He just don't want that work from the superior man.

He knows he caught lightening in a bottle the first time with some of the worst judging seen int he past decade along with Lara/Williams and Bradley/Pac I..

why would it be bad if kovalev didn't give ward a rematch if he won?..i thought he beat him the first time and if he does get the decision this time,no need to prove anything a third time,he would have proven twice he's just better..maybe if ward really beats him in rematch and kov gets decision I can understand a third fight, only that way

                  Everyone is overlooking something.

Will you agree to a third fight?

"Let's see what's gonna happen in the ring," from a man who literally killed someone in the ring!

I'm not saying he had that in mind, but no one else thought of that?

Kovalev will only agree to a third if he gets the majority of the purse, I'm sure he's tired of being B side, especially since he and a lot of people feel he won the first fight.

Who the hell wanted to see Pacman Bradley 3? Nobody.

Kovalev wasn't robbed as badly, but if he felt he won twice he certainly doesn't have to give a third fight.

This writer is biased. Ward was contractually obligated to give Kovalev a rematch, and not with a strings attached to that clause of him getting a rematch. It would only be bad if Kovalev doesn't rematch Ward after beating him if it's controversial like the 1st one. In that case, then **** clauses and just do what's right for the sport. But if Kovalev beats Ward clearer than the first time, then it's 2-0 regardless of what the books say, and it's time to move on. Especially if Kovalev wins by knockout, then there's not even any point. Kovalev has bigger fish to fry after that. If Kovalev knocks out Ward, but Ward comes back and beats Beterbiev or someone like that while Kovalev takes out Stevenson, then Ward could earn a 3rd fight just by virtue of being #2 in the division again, despite being 0-2 vs Kovalev. But if Ward gets knocked out, a 3rd fight doesn't make more sense than the other top guys in the division. Unless Ward beats one of them, then forget it.

I think if Ward gets knocked out by Kovalev, he would probably try to move back to 168 despite being a "slimmed down light heavyweight" while he was down there according to his trainer, and despite struggling to make 175 now according to him. But that is what will happen, and there could still be good fights at 168 between GGG, Zurdo, maybe Daniel Jacobs is at 168 by then, Ward, maybe Degale (but he's overrated), etc. Maybe Canelo is at 168 eventually lol, but probably not for awhile.
