But if Kovalev beats Ward clearer than the first time, then it's 2-0 regardless of what the books say, and it's time to move on. Especially if Kovalev wins by knockout, then there's not even any point. Kovalev has bigger fish to fry after that. If Kovalev knocks out Ward, but Ward comes back and beats Beterbiev or someone like that while Kovalev takes out Stevenson, then Ward could earn a 3rd fight just by virtue of being #2 in the division again, despite being 0-2 vs Kovalev. But if Ward gets knocked out, a 3rd fight doesn't make more sense than the other top guys in the division. Unless Ward beats one of them, then forget it.

I think if Ward gets knocked out by Kovalev, he would probably try to move back to 168 despite being a "slimmed down light heavyweight" while he was down there according to his trainer, and despite struggling to make 175 now according to him. But that is what will happen, and there could still be good fights at 168 between GGG, Zurdo, maybe Daniel Jacobs is at 168 by then, Ward, maybe Degale (but he's overrated), etc. Maybe Canelo is at 168 eventually lol, but probably not for awhile.

    hey, ****face.....

do you mean like Golovkin/Jacobs.... ?

or, is it suddenly necessary to have a rematch clause?

I truly cannot stand you ignorant two-faced fanboys

So what happens when Ward wins by close decision again? Return to the robbery theme and demand a 3rd fight?

Kovalev is the superior fighter on the outside. His jab in the early rounds of the first fight had Ward dazed and hurt and that's the blue print for beating Ward.
Fight from the outside, keep Ward on his back foot, punish him with the jab, avoid a wrestling match and the stoppage will come.
Didn't you/Kovalev know all of this since the beginning of time?

Yours is quite a funny post. LOL. 😁

You Wardaholics are so hilariously easy to scope out. 'Outside of the knockdown, Kovalev did nothing'... basically your 'script' anytime the first fight comes up in threads HA!!!

Wow, watching Ward get annihilated is going to be sweet.

WARD touches his body up and works on the inside almost exclusively this fight. Kovalev will get a point deducted for holding.
