There is a list a mile long of ATG's who either lost or squeeked by in big fights. It happens when you are fighting the guys you are suppose to.

As for Thurman he is one of my top 5 favorite fighters right now, but as someone else pointed out. He has'nt been in the ring enough the last couple years. Now is a perfect example. At his age he should already have his next fight lined up, but does'nt.

I expected Thurman to beat Garcia by a much larger amount than he did. He sort of let me down by only beating Garcia by 2 or 3 points. I think Thurman gets the right amount of recognition for what he has done in the ring. He is rated by most including myself as one of the 4 best welterweights in the world along with Brook, Spence, and Pacquiao. He doesn't dominate guys like Porter and Garcia enough to be rated above the other 3 best welterweights in my opinion. I rate him as their equal but not their superior unless and until he beats any of them.

          1) he only fights once a year. I like Thurman but for him to fight once a year, it's hard to excited for him, cuz once he fights, i won't see him again til next year, which is a buzzkill for me.
          2) he's not really one time as his nickname suggests. maybe "one time" in the sense that he fights one time a year but not for knockouts, thats for sure.
          3) he should've gotten Danny Garcia out early in his fight, instead of running the last few rounds, which is a buzzkill.

Lets not act like thurman's resume is stacked, he just now recently started fighting ranked opposition ......I don't really think highly of porter at all personally....i expected thurman to wash porter and that didn't happen. The garcia win wasn't dominant either and he was favored.

I think he's gotten the credit for his recent victories. But he needs to fight more often to maintain his presence.

He is recognized in the boxing world as a top WW.

Hes recognized in the boxing world as an elite champion in one of the most prestige divisions in recent years.

Hes only unrecognized by unhealthy, flabby, Internet enthusiasts on this website who haven't broken a sweat since second grade.

                Correct?
