  • I like Loma and all but #1 p4p is a bit premature and hasnt fought or beat a p4p type

I know to some its amazing what he is doing.

Its impressive but its not groundbreaking

he is almost 30, with over 300 amatuer fights

he is a mature fighter and is talented as all hell

he passes the eye test with flying colors but i dont like to get ahead of myself.

He is definitely one of the most talented fighters around, id just like to see him fight another rugged, aggressive top guy...not necessarily p4p but elite from 130-135 before annointing him.

before annointing him p4p, he should at least unify his division or beat a couple of the other titlist....126 had good fighters left, so does 130 before he moves up

Most fighters on the p4p list haven't beaten a p4p type. You put Danny Garcia on the list and he never beat a p4p type.

Lomachenko whooped Russell, Martinez, and Walters and looked like one of the very best fighters on the planet while doing so. He shouldn't be #1, but there are not 5 clearly better fighters in the world right now.

I have mixed feelings bout this. I think P4P has become to obsessed with paper accomplishments as opposed to using your imagination, watching fighters perform and determining who is the best out of all of them.

Like to me, I look at Kovalev and GGG. They have accomplished more than Lomachenko. But when I watch the 3 of them, Lomachenko just seems to be a more dynamic fighter than the both of them. And he has wins over Russell, Walters, Sosa and Martinez. Those wins are on par with Jacobs, Lemieux, Geale or Hopkins/Cleverly/Pascal.

I have no problem going out on a limb and saying he is a top 3 p4p fighter right now.

Really like Loma! He's pure skill and fun to watch. I think he has a chance to be an all time great.

But it takes time and big fights to start being compared to the best. Since he got such a late start on his career he needs to stay active so we can have a bigger body of work to judge him on. If he can clean out 130 and 135 and stay there defending his titles for the next 4-5 years then we can start talking about him as a great boxer.

Everyone likes Loma, but people need to slow their roll, you're going to make us hate him by exaggerating his accomplishments, the same way GGG is now hated because he was shoved down or throats and then exulted too much by fanboys. Everyone wants to like Loma, let us. HBO is already out of control, but they have an excuse, they are trying to sell a product.

Loma looks to be special. The same way I felt about Rigo after Donaire, I'm starting to get the same feelings about Loma. I would love to see him vs Linares, Flanagan and Mikey Garcia. He's not a youth, but his skillset is definitely up there w/ the best of them. I don't have him in my number 1 spot on my p4p list, but he's closing on it rather quickly

I disagree and I think this reluctance to put him #1 P4P is out of SPITE from some people who don't want to give him credit because the Eastern European Supporters Online especially on this forum whom many are Classless trolling bandwagon jumping idiots.

However, *** THEM lets keep it about Skills and Accomplishments in the RING! I think having Gary Russell Jr and Walters on your resume this early in his Pro Career is good enough on top of the natural talent and skills in the ring. No QUESTION he Qualifies to be in the P4P discussion.

I had him top 3 with Ward and Kovalev after the Walters fight. *** Off (not you therealpugilist but people in general who make excuses for Walters to discredit Loma) with the Layoff Excuses for Walters please people! Mayweather, Ray Leonard and Many greats took a year or YEARS OFF but jumped right back into the fire with a tough opponent with NO WARM UP! Don't blame Loma for Walters not staying in shape and putting on a ton of Pounds!
