didn't this guy lose to alfonso gomez? anybody losing to gomez sucks
And Kirkland lost to Nobuhiro Ishida. Neither these guys are elite fighters we judging on a scale right now. lol I rather see limited but brawling Kamegai who is always in exciting fights and has been active then be asked to pay ppv for Kirkland or see a washed up small Rios who ain't fought in 2 years.
I actually don't mind kamagai of its not ppv and just regular HBO. Kamagai is coming off a fight of the year candidate and then dominated the rematch, phuked up Guerrero and got robbed. But more importantly is fan friendly always in fun fights. I like this better then small shot Rios who hasn't fought in 2 years.
Yeah I remember that fight Kamegai had with Guerrero. That was a fun fight, a brawl. And yeah Guerrero's face was ****ed up after the fight was over. Kamegai also knocked out Soto-Karass, I mean it's not the greatest win in the sport of boxing but he knocked him out, something Andre Berto wasn't able to do and Berto got dropped and hurt by Soto-Karass, Lol. But seriously with only 2 months until June do people think that's enough time to negotiate a contract with money and other details for Cotto to fight a top fighter? With the limited amount of time to find an opponent, they have to fight somebody. And I agree, I don't mind a Cotto vs. Kamegai fight. Considering Cotto's been off for 19 months and with Kirkland dropping out and only 2 months until June, what do people expect?

Exactly as long as it's NOT PPV this is the best option I've heard for june. Win or lose Kamegai is always in fun fights. He's a brawler, there to trade and be hit and will come forward, has heart/toughnes will try to win. Will make Cotto look good and the fight will be exciting for as long as it goes. Best of the options I've heard.
No Lie, Im down for cotto vs kamegai. Since its free abd cotto been away for over a year, would be an entertaining scrap, that to be honest, might be difficult for cotto cause kamegai is very tough. But if Cotto tries to drain him, then i hope cotto get his ass kicked.

I totally agree with you Dunn and couple Cotto vs. Kamegai with the replay of Ward vs Kovalev 2 on June 24th, I don't see anything wrong with this.
Jeez; so much hate for Cotto! Listen guys, he's 36 years old and at the end of a punishing professional fighting career. He's faced 8 undefeated fighters and beaten most of them. He's won world titles in four divisions, and faced the best of his generation. He has always given exciting fights. He had Margarito try to kill him with loaded wraps; and avenged that "loss". He fought the non-blood tested Pac when Pac looked chemically superhuman, and did it weight drained. He gave Mayweather one of his more competitive fights. He fought Martinez, when people (on here) were saying he was gonna get killed. So what if he wants a couple of soft touches for his last fights?
And another thing, why is it that people on here think that any fighter who isn't a top-level elite fighter is just a "bum"? In between the top-level fighters and the bottom-level journeymen, there are lots of good fighters. And where do you fruitcakes get off calling any professional fighter a bum?
I have news for you guys, most great fighters take easy fights here and there, especially at the end of their careers. Lighten up and respect a great fighter.
