Not a good comparison at all. Holyfield was a master boxer who defeated Tyson decisively by TKO--Tyson had no answers in the rematch hence the biting, Ward got the nod in a very close and competitive fight that should have gone to Kovalev in the eyes of most spectators.

nope. The knockdown was the difference maker. Automatically put Kov up by 2 rounds.

it took about 5-6 rounds for Ward to figure out the lunging entry angles to tie up and work on the inside.

Watch that fight from 6 rounds onward. Kovalev had NO answer to adapt. None. exactly like how Tyson felt in Holyfield. Of course Ward doesn't have Holyfield's power and chin.

        Stylistically, it's the same fight.

How so Kovelev is not a head case like Tyson was especially when he was off his meds.
Just heard a story last week from actor Dax Sheppard on the radio, one weekend he was his friend the next weekend he threatened to punch Dax lights out.

In his prime, Tyson was the best fighter period at the time. His timing and movement was amazing along with his power and style. Not sure why any of these fighters are being mentioned next to Mike Tyson. Ward is a defensive fighter and Kovalev is pretty balanced. Holyfield was different too

Jacobs > Maidana. Athleticism wise and skill wise.

Also GGG demonstrated better defense moving forward without giving up ring generalship nor any illegal tactics like holding.
GGG was 34 when he fought Jacobs..Floyd was 37 when he fought Maidana..try again

                similar does not mean identical.

they were both mid 30's. GGG was 1 month away from 35

the things people make up about this fight. ward was the one under constant pressure and had to hold constantly or bend over constantly to escape it but it was kov who was tired? this rematch is utterly pointless. fanboys are going to say ward wins no matter what happens. we know theres going to be a ref who will let ward clinch nonstop. we know kov will dominate on the outside. we know it will be boring because wards only chance is clinching. ward knows this as well so he literally has to clicnh it up nonstop. watching one guy cheat for 12 rounds and the ref do nothing. seen it all before. snoozer.
